Made from the blenheim varietal - a richly flavored apricot that's considered the "king" of apricots - this jam is nectary and heady, a classic-tasting apricot jam. If you could contain summer in a single spoonful, this is it. Although the blenheim varietal was grown widely in Northern California since the early 1900s (Silicon Valley used to be apricot orchards), it's now become a rare fruit due to it's fragile nature (which makes it difficult to distribute fresh) and disappearing farmlands.
