These edge protectors are actually a hard vinyl; there is little or no "cushion" to them.I got tired of banging my shins on the corner of a bed. Bought these and installed. Banged my shin -- and two weeks later the bruise is WORSE than it first was, now swelling. That means a trip to the hospital.More, it's worse than the bruises from the bed corner without the edge protectors.These would definitely not protect children from injury.
