Vegetable Gardening for Dummies

I learned a lot in this book. Read almost the whole thing before I planted my garden last spring

Book is great and good quality except there was a ?syrup? Stain at the bottom

Thorough instruction on how to grow your own vegetables. It offers enlightening information in an easy to understand format while providing some humor.

I've had potted vegetable before and a small 3 X 3 garden (that did not do very well) But, this year my boyfriend and I decided to make an 80 X 34 garden and plant everything possible. I was so happy to read that, for the most part, we were on the right track. I'm excited to try the different varieties next year of all the different vegetables that they list. They tell you how to care for, fertilize, compost, and plant each plant to the specifications. I just ordered Gardening with Free-Range Chickens and I'm so excited to involve the chickens in our process :)

Even though I know some about growing flowers & veggies, this is refreshing as I can reference to it at anytime. I also like it because it told me a few tips that I didn't even know or think about. In addition, it refers to veggies that I've never heard of & some that I have been interested in growing but I can take this to the doctors office & read while I wait.

I was pleasantly surprised! This is one of the best books about vegetable gardening I’ve read. The chapters are very organized and thorough. I love Kindle!

I have been using one version or another of these books at least to some degree ever since I first picked one up for my brother so he could work on his old Volkswagen, back in the late sixties! Of course back then they were a little more racy and included other more controversial ways to spend your break time between changing your spark plugs and your oil! They are still as informative as always with plentiful little side tips to keep you interested. Entertaining and informative with a little humor for good measure is still the way to go!

Could've been a bit more straightforward. I was mainly looking for a step-by-step guide, and while this had all the information I needed, it still required some extrapolation on my part to order the steps to take. Otherwise, a handy volume.

I found this book to be invaluable to gardening. Too many gardening books are filled with latin and botany terms and assume you are well versed in how to garden. I always end up not actually finding out what I wanted to know, which is how to grow a vegetable garden and why vegetables need to be grown the way they are.This book will become my go to refrence book while planning and planting my garden.The author is enthusiastic about gardening and it shows in his writing.The explanation in each section of the different vegetable groupings and what they need to grow is exactly what I want in a how to garden book.This book gives it straight up, no mucking about, this is what you need and this is how to do it.

I am still failing at gardening, but it is no fault of this book. This book is lovely, easy to follow, a LOT of information.

Love this book. Has tons of information and ideas to use to help with your garden. Some of my friends have even asked to look at it to get idea's and information and have now purchased for themselves
