The Scrambled States of America Talent Show

My grandson is 6 and has checked the companion book The Scrambled States of America, 4 or 5 times from his school library, and finds something new in the pictures or story. He loves to read it to me and tell me about the facts in the book. Great Job to the author.Teri D

My son is in first grade, and his kindergarten teacher introduced him to the Scrambled States books because he loves the states (he was constantly drawing them on his papers at school). He was so excited when he found the books on Freetime on his Kindle, and has started to read them on his own. We decided to get a hard copy for Christmas, and he loves it! He already knows all the states, their capitals, and can draw their shapes and locations by memory; these stories are such a fun addition to his state obsession!

I purchased Scrambled States of America: Talent Show for my two year old son. I love Laurie Keller, and had previously read Do Unto Otters.Scrambled States has a brief list of State facts on the inside covers, and I like to use that and the map to help teach my son about the states. Cartoonizing each state into a character makes each state memorable and my son relates to them. He easily identifies Michigan, Oregon, and more thanks to this book. This is a great start for a toddler.The book is about the different talents some states choose to showcase in a wacky talent show adventure. There is a lot of humor. My son giggles everytime we read it.This book is a lot of fun to read and it is a great learning tool, both early on and will be over the next few years.

My kids LOVE the Scrambled States books! They laugh out loud while reading them, and learn about the states as they go! Such a fun series of books, and they have a fun game to play too!

I bought the Scrambled States game years ago and have been waiting for my kids to get old enough to play it (they are 4, 5 and 7 now). I was surprised to find that there are also two books that go with it now! I purchased both and love them both. My kids ask me to read them all the time. They are funny and the kids love all the little extra pictures and conversations around the pages. They enjoy the books so much that I even got the game out recently and while they cannot play it fully, they enjoyed playing a scaled down version of it.

These Scrambled States books have really launched an interest in the states for my 8 and 6 year old girls. We read the books over and over again. They love to read not just the story, but all the little side phrases and conversations that happen between the states on several of the pages. AFter seeing how much they loved the book, I also purchased the Scrambled States of America game, which has also been a huge hit, especially with my older daughter. She knows SO much about the states now, after just a few weeks! We also bought a Melissa & Doug giant floor puzzle of the U.S. to help reinforce state locations. This book started it all...what a fun introduction to the states!

I usually reserve five stars for a product that I really really personally love. I have not read all of this book, but I love it. My son has had this book every waking moment since it arrived. He is 6 and already knows the locations and names of the States. This book is helping a lot with the remaining work on the capitals of each state. This book is a great fun and quite funny learning aid. There is a Youtube video for the scrambled states as well. I have ordered the first book in this series too!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!!!!!!! We checked this book out at the library and decided to just buy it because it's that awesome!! My son just turned five a month ago and this is a perfect introduction to American geography. We read this book at least six times and he memorized more than half the book and can identify a few states! This book is so good, we bought the original and the board game as well.
