A: It feels like you're going to break the band but it twists and pulls off to fit in the case

A: It comes apart fairly easily.  Just pull slowly from side to side (the long side of the device) until you've uncovered the plastic and contacts.

**Q: How well does it protect the charging portion of the evolve?**
A: It covers the whole thing pretty snuggly. The case is curved as well so no risk of breaking off the port. I have it clipped to my keys and so far no issues.
