Save time on most paint projects by cleaning and etching all in one step. For heavily soiled surfaces the original krud kutter should be used as a pre-prep step, to remove excess oil, grease, and dirt. Excess rust should be removed with a wire brush. Krud kutter metal clean and etch is specially formulated to prepare iron, steel, zinc, aluminum, and galvanized surfaces for painting. Removes rust, oil, grease, and dirt. Eliminates paint peeling and other adhesion problems.

Apply the premix to the metal surface with a paintbrush, spray bottle, sponge, or pump-up sprayer. Step 5. Let the premix sit for up to ten minutes. Step 6. Rinse thoroughly with water and wipe dry with a rag.

**Q: Is the a strong an acid or base ?I need alkaline cleaner.Also,is this effective for galvanced metal paint preparation?**
A: I use it to clean all the parts on cars I restore as one of the steps to prep for paint. It works good. I do a final wash off and the add the rust preventative. But you may not need that on galvanized metal.

**Q: is it better than acetone for cleaning metal?**
A: Yes and no acetone will clean better but will not etch bare metals to paint.  I used this product to clean and etch bare metals to get it ready for paint.

**Q: What is the percentage of phosphoric acid in this product?**
A: 40%
