A Game-Changer for Baby Proofing!
I am absolutely in love with the Eco Baby Magnetic Cabinet Locks for Babies! These locks have been a lifesaver in keeping my toddler out of the cabinets and ensuring their safety. Installation was a breeze. The adhesive is strong yet gentle on the cabinets, leaving no damage or marks when applied or removed. This was a major selling point for me, as I wanted a solution that wouldn’t ruin my furniture. The locks are incredibly effective. My toddler has tried numerous times to open the cabinets, but these locks have held firm every time. The magnetic key is easy for adults to use, but impossible for little hands to figure out, providing a perfect balance of security and accessibility. The sleek, invisible design is another plus. It maintains the aesthetic of my kitchen without bulky hardware showing. Additionally, the 12-pack offers great value, allowing me to secure multiple cabinets throughout my home. Overall, the Eco Baby Magnetic Cabinet Locks are an essential product for any parent. They are reliable, easy to install, and highly effective at keeping little ones safe. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a superior baby-proofing solution!

Super easy! Barely an inconvenience!
So you have a review for me? Yes sir I do! I was thinking I could install some child cabinet safety locks to keep my baby out of the kitchen cabinets. These locks installed great! I was able to install them right side up as shown in the photos for the product, but I was ALSO able to install these locks upside down and on their sides and they still work great. The magnetic feature makes them completely invisible from the outside so if you don’t want anyone to know they are there, they don’t have to know. The package does include some small cute butterfly stickers so you can place them on the outside of the cabinet to indicate where you should hold the magnet to unlock when needed, but I opted not to use them as I prefer the cleaner look without the stickers. I know where I placed the locks after all. As for the magnet “keys” that are used to unlock the cabinets, the package comes with two included, and magnetic mounts to “store” or “hold” them when not actively using them. The mounts just like the locks also use 3M PE Foam stickers to adhere to whatever flat smooth surface you’d like to place them. HOWEVER since these magnet keys are magnets I opted to just put them on the fridge and they will hold just fine there. Additionally, really any sufficiently strong magnet should be able to unlock the cabinets so if you misplace the magnet keys that come with the set, just use another fairly powerful magnet and you should be fine. As for the locks themselves, they are super easy to install. Barely an inconvenience. I recommend reading the instructions and watching the video so you can know how to use the installation guide mount. I missed it on the first one I installed, but even without that, it came out ok. It’s much easier and quicker with the guide mount used properly though, so again, I highly recommend using that instead. The really neat thing about the locks is that they can be turned on or off as shown in the product images. To turn them on, you just “flip the switch” so to speak and it allows the hook to descend and allows it to catch the other part mounted on the inside of the cabinet. Again it doesn’t matter what orientation you mount the lock in because the hook will work right-side-up, upside-down, or any side you put it on. Mounting locks on the side is tight! As for the strength of the locks/adhesive, I have to say they/it all seems very strong. Haven’t had an issue with them yet. My child hasn’t really pulled very hard at them just yet, but judging by me pulling on them they shouldn’t come off by any means. Wow wow wow, WOW!

Best baby lock ever!
We have 7 children and I have used many baby locks over the years. These are by far the best! I love the feature that you can turn the lock on or off. My husband is frustrated when cooking and finding every cabinet and drawer locked when he needs in it, I simply turn the locks off and it is a non-issue, that to me is a game changer with baby locks. I also like that you can hear an audible "click" when you put the key in the right place and it unlocks- I did not use the stickers to mark the spot on my cabinets since that kind of defeats the purpose of a hidden lock system, but with the click sound, I only need to remember the general area that I put the lock and then run the key around that area until I hear the click- be sure to not pull on the door or drawer before you hear that click and know that it is open. My only gripe is that you cannot use the key one handed to open a drawer or cabinet, but that is not a deal breaker, and I just leave the locks off much of the time on my most used drawers....until my 1 yr old starts getting into things and then it is super fast to baby-proof once again. We are a military family and move often so I can't just put on locks and use them for years- I have to remove them and re-install in our new home (thus the reason I have used many types over the years). I love that these do not have any parts that screw into the cabinets and they should be easy to remove and re-use with new sticky back in our new place a few years down the road. I highly recommend these and bought 2 set of 12. They work well on cabinets and drawers alike- I put them on the sides of my drawers because they are from Ikea and do not have dividers between the drawers to attach the catch to and on the bottom of my cabinets because again, there was nothing to attach to at the top because of my cabinet style- it worked beautifully. Pictures of the lock on and off....a tip for installing- put the catch down and then place the lock very lightly where you think it should go, then test it out to make sure it is in the right place before you press it down hard. I had to move several around some and re-position to get them perfectly in place- it was not hard though and did not take long at all. Don't be fooled by being able to re-position them while installing, the sticky back glue is super strong once they have been in place for a day- I have had no trouble at all with them un-sticking and I often forget that the lock is on and pull with full adult force on them without issue.

With adjustments, good for older kids.
I enjoy that they are invisible from the outside. I use them with an older child with autism, so for me, the cabinets that are more motivating or have more serious content need some backup reinforcement. I have a few tips. I have one round of locks that I installed and left open for a few days before closing the cabinets. All but one have never broken loose to pulling. The one is a laundry soap cupboard, so I expect I didn't clean it well enough before application. Since they worked so well, I bought another round to try and stop the late night baking that leaves my house looking awesome. No "snowman" parties where 5 pounds of flour are on the floor? No "it's my own recipe" where flour and water clay are primed to crust over a pre-petrified rolling pin. Or my personal favorite, the sugar cookies I actually knew about from a room away, where the recipe said 5 T. of almond milk, and my sweetheart said "Good thing we had 5 tons of almond milk in the fridge! and put in all 5 half gallons to chill with the rest of the ingredients overnight. Oh the sadness! To lose the opportunity to bake when the mood strikes. To not run that flour through your hair, your nose, your brother's shirt....it's a loss. Anyway, the second round I installed were only placed and left unlatched for a day (per instructions) before being in use. They popped off. I had enough to use new ones and try again. Success. Leave them as long as possible before closing the doors. Press hard. Maybe use a small wood clamp for the door latches if you can find one. Those seem susceptible to coming off. I find that inserting a small screw to the side of center of the catch helps them to stay in place even when trying to be excised by a mourning baker at bedtime. Or a sleepy baker in morning. Ha, good one. One problem I've run into so far is that theoretically, gravity is real. These locks are the proof. When you try and use one on a lower set of cabinets, you get a latch that stays unhooked. it falls into the open, unlocked position, obviously, and does not move up. Take that, science. A workaround is to put it under a shelf in said cabinet, so theoretical gravity can work for you instead of against you and lock 'er up. They provide stickers (mine were butterflies on a white background- have they heard of vellum? A little more discretion would have been nice. I feel like a 6th-grade girl decorating my binder, not a woman in her kitchen). I tried this partnering with gravity in the baking cabinet, so it didn't last long. I think it's because of The Motivated Baker rather than the second tier placement, haha, another good one, but I don't know. Time to go at the lock with my drill. I think they should include extra sticky pads for both sides because it's not rare that they come off when following their instructions. You can remove the magnet inside the bulky white magnet thingy and put it in a slimmer carrier. I put mine in a plastic SD card case and wear it on a lanyard with the rest of my "kid proof all the things keys". I wish I had some real tiny pouch to wear it in, but wearing it around is actually better imo, because the White things break open a lot when they are dropped. Mine were getting dropped a lot when being yanked away from a magnetic surface. Or just in normal use. I can be particularly clumsy though, it's endearing. You should know that one of the magnets actually split off a chunk when it was dropped. If I actually had a baby, I would have been very concerned about making sure I'd found all the shards of it. If I had a baby I'd be way more motivated to superglue the top mushroom part of the white thing to the stem part though. That's why it comes apart so often. The lock is in sections that are not sealed so they scatter whenever it is dropped. Then you need to test the polarity of the magnet before you re-shut it because you will smile and remember compassion and not to be annoyed when your loved one is loudly annoyed if you guessed wrong and you can't get raisins out tomorrow when you need them. The first set I bought had a thin magnet that moved around easily (I liked it better for fitting in my plastic SD card holder and for weighing less). The second set's is bigger and harder to manipulate for stuff. The 3M stuff doesn't come off prettily. You have to use a paint scraper or knife. If I had custom cabinets I'd want to know that.

Mom of 7, 10 and under
I have experience with about 4 or 5 different cabinet locks. These are BY FAR the best! Unlike the ones you push that break easily with repeated use of the cabinet door, these are durable. These do not allow the door to open slightly like other cabinet locks either. On those my toddlers would always find something to pull through the crack. I purchased two sets. We live in a manufactured home so we have thin cabinets and they work well. We also have built in cabinets that have thick lips and they work well too. These work great and are durable. I've not needed customer service, but just by seeing how they respond to customer questions here shows they are a great company. The only thing to watch out for is when you drop the key, the magnet does tend to fall out. This easily can be put back together, just make sure you pick that magnet back up right away, as it is a choking Hazzard if it falls out (as well as potentially dangerous). Note that I've never had a key to fall apart on its own. It is well put together. It only comes apart when dropped. We are just clumsy folks! I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but with 7 children, 10 and under, I know a bit about child safety as well as function. My older children can use these locks easily and we keep them higher and out of the way from the younger ones. The fact that you can easily set these locks to lock or stay unlocked is a huge bonus for when you are out of the toddler season or if you are someone who just occasionally has children over. To me, of all the baby products out there, this would be in my top 5 must haves!

Superb product, you won't regret it!
With my little one now walking and my youngest one crawling, the highlight of their day became raiding the drawers in the house. They got really good at this, making messes I've only seen in my nightmares. So we knew we needed a solution to keep them from getting into the drawers/cabinets, but I knew I didn't want anything that would stick (with an adhesive) to the outside of the cabinets, and I certainly didn't want to drill any holes into them either. The Eco Baby Cabinet Locks system was the perfect solution. They sit in the interior of the cabinet, not the outside, so our cabinets in our kitchen or the rest of the house don't look ugly. Since I installed these, I've noticed the girls have lost interest in opening the cabinets/drawers. Since there isn't anything on the outside letting them know there's a lock, they've probably come to the conclusion that those drawers/cabinets just don't open. Sometimes I lift the hinge of the lock (so the cabinet doesn't lock when it closes), and because they girls can't tell when the cabinet/drawer is locked or not, they've just learned to ignore them. It helps during moments I know I'm going to need access to that drawer often. These are slightly pricier than other more intrusive options, but the extra cost is worth it because it doesn't visually compromise the look our cabinets/drawers (its as if they weren't there), they are very good quality (would probably last a lifetime), and no drilling is needed. The only downside is that it is a bit annoying to always have to grab the magnet when you need it. Only two come in each pack, so if you're using these locks in drawers/cabinets all over the house, you might find yourself walking up and down the house looking for the magnet key many times. To solve for this, we just purchased additional keys, and we keep one key in each room for more convenience. This is a small drawback though, compared to the benefits. I think these also work beyond the baby years. You can store personal, valuable items in a specific drawer or cabinet, for privacy (you'd just have to keep the magnet key in a place only you know of). I totally see the value if using these with teenagers too: keeping snacks away from them, or even placing their phones, game systems, and laptops away from them when they're grounded. I'm definitely holding on to mine until then! lol I'm very happy with my purchase. I've already recommended the product to several friends with toddlers. I hope you enjoy it too.

Magnetic locks are OK. Do not work in some cabinet/drawer configurations
These magnetic locks are good, but they can only be intalled in cabinets/drawers that have a specific configuration. Pros: - They hold cabinet doors and drawers closed. - No sliver openings that can pinch little fingers. - Easy to install in many places, but ease of installation varies depending on door/drawer configuration (see below). - They attach strongly to surfaces, but not so strongly you can never get them off. If properly attached, it would be quite difficult for an adult to yank them off by pulling on the outside of the door/drawer. They should deter all but the strongest, most persistent babies. Cons: - The largest drawback is that they can only be installed in certain cabinet/drawer configurations. The piece that attaches to the cabinet/drawer frame needs a long, flat surface to attach. This surface needs to be at 90 degrees and level with the piece that attaches to the movable portion of the door/drawer. We were only able to install them in about half the locations we wanted them for. In many places there was no room to attach either of the pieces. - Ease of installation varies depending on the door/drawer configuration. They were very easy to install in some places, but trickier in others, and impossible in some. They're very easy to intstall in cabinets with side-by-side doors, where you can open one door and access the one next to it while it's closed: it's easy to see what you're doing. They're also easy to install on most drawers. The installation is trickier for cabinets that have a single door, because you can't see how things line up once you close the door. Not a huge deal, but you need to masure carefully, and it can take some trial and error. - Depending on the configuration of our different cabinets, we had to install the locks in different locations on different doors and drawers (sometimes on the top edge, others on the bottom or side one). When the doors/drawers are closed, of course, you can't see where the magnetic locks are (which is kind of the point). Unless you remember where behind each door the lock is, you have to go around the entire perimeter of the door with the "key" listening for the unlocking "click" to be able to open the door. Can be a bit frustrating. Overall, we're OK with these locks, because they're unobtrusive and they work, as long as you can actually install them. But be advised they don't work everywhere and they have some downsides. Relatively easy modifications could make this product a lot better. Minor adaptations could make it possible to attach them in different cabinet configurations. Discreet, peelable stickers would make easy markers of where you need to place the key to open each lock. Pre-drilled holes would make it easy to attach with screws for those who wish to do so.

Works great unless they require reinstall
Updating review: We renovated our kitchen and had old cabinets painted. As a result, the locks had to be removed. My husband contacted the company to try and purchase replacement pads and what was needed to reinstall the old locks. The company does not sell this as a kit but because we had only purchased the locks about two months prior and used them, they were super helpful and sent us all we needed - at no extra charge - to make our home safe again for our grandchild. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE - Above & Beyond what most companies today would do! We are also renovating the bathroom/the older vanity which was the problem in my earlier review. In getting rid of the vanity, we realized it had a slightly warped floor on the side that would not completely close after I had tugged too hard on the security lock (probably from a previous under-the-sink leak with previous house owners). Original review: Bought these as grandparent to install everywhere so the childproofing wouldn’t show in my kitchen cabinets. Worked great there and in updated bathroom but not as great with older bathroom vanity. I came home and did not know my husband had installed them; I pulled the cabinet door open on the older vanity, and now that section will not close all the way - even though my husband completely replaced the locks and all parts. We can’t figure out why, and in all fairness, I didn’t tug unusually hard on the handle to open the door, as I have arthritis and do not have a lot of hand strength. I expect these to work for the time being but not as my granddaughter gets determined and stronger to open doors. She is 19 months old and the locks stopped her on her last visit quite effectively. Time will tell how long they will hold out against her. The one thing I LOVE about these locks is that when she is not at my house, I can “turn off” the locks quite easily by pressing them in per the instructions and then reset the locks when she comes for a visit. That way, I’m not constantly reaching for the magnet to open my kitchen cabinets while preparing a meal when she’s not around. Genius!

Great product,read for installation tip!
This product is great. It works well. The installation mighty take a while to figure out. First make sure you remove any dirt and dust (you can use the wipe provided),let it dry. I found that the best way to put it is to install the top part inside of the cabinet (stick it just at the edge, this is really important). Then put the bigger part inside of it and close the door (this will make the bigger part to stick to the door gently) you then use a magnet to unlock it and gently open the door. Then press on the part to stick it permanently. I wish the instructions were clearer so I didn't have to make so many unsuccessful attempts. If you do this as I described it will save you a lot of time. But in general once installed this is a great thing.
