The award winning Dry Fly Box is designed with hackle and tails in mind. Most boxes smash any hackle when anchoring a fly, but with our patent pending 3D mat design that's no longer an issue.

Is this the perfect dry fly box?
One of the first things you notice off the bat is that it isn't made from foam. This is amazing. The design fits a good amount of flys with good spacing and this is one of the most durable boxes you can buy. It's magnetic locking system is amazing value for money. So the pro's of this box are: quality, durability, and available spacing on flys. The cons of this box: if you have an exssesive amount of dry flys you can squeeze them in, it will be a tight fit but at least you have that option. The biggest con I've come up with is the stiffness of the slots, you have to put the fly into a slot in the right spot or it won't go in. This is a good and bad thing since they won't fall out even if you tip the box over and shake it.I've currently switched my dry and nymph boxes over to tackys and couldn't be happier. BUY THIS BOX you'll love it and so will your friends and fishing friends.

It doesn't have any sort of weather stripping or seal like many of the other fly boxes have
Was looking for a solid box to accommodate my ever growing assortment of dry flies. Honestly, the packaging and marketing was what caught my attention first and then the solid reviews. Being made in the USA certainly helped as well.It appears to be a solid box; the magnetic closure is neat. It doesn't have any sort of weather stripping or seal like many of the other fly boxes have. The silicone platform is interesting, some of the slots are difficult to insert the hook into (you back the the hook into it; the hook point facing away from the slit) and you do have to muscle it a bit, but once it's in there, the flies seem secure. The box is on the pricey side, but if it's made in the USA and the quality is as advertised, I don't mind.

Best boxes on the market.
These are probably the best boxes on the market. This one is great for dry flys and is a nice addition to the tacky line up. I must own a dozen of their boxes and they work well. The clear surface does tend to scratch if loaded in a boat bag against other boxes but it has not effected the ability to see in them. They hold flys very securely.

OK, but not as good as the Original
I bought the Tacky Dry Fly Box after buying and using the Tacky Original Fly Box. I was excited about the Dry Fly Box after having such a good experience with the Original, but it is not as good. The Dry Fly Box insert is made from the same high-quality material as the Original but it is not as easy to get flies in and out this box. I am not sure if is possible to use all of the slots because it would get so tight. Also, you have to really put pressure on the flies to get them in the slots. I love Tacky fly boxes, but I would not buy the Dry Fly Box again.

Best of Kind
I've bought a lot of boxes over time and did not find what I was looking for. I now own 8 of these: 3 standard. 2 drys, 2 bug and 1 day. Pretty expensive at the onset but the silicone holds up very well, the case is made of great plastic, and the magnetic catch has not lost any of its ability to clamp tight.

I am not easily persuaded to write reviews
I am not easily persuaded to write reviews, but the Tacky products have earned my praise. I have owned at least a dozen different fly boxes made by other manufacturers, but none come close to the quality of these. In my opinion, they are far and away the best on the market based on design, quality of build, and fundamental utility. These boxes are engineered beautifully and they deserve the price they command.

Beware tiny flies with the corner magnets.
It's a great storage device except on the river. A frustrating thing about this fly box is the magnets. Loose flies get stuck on the magnets. Sometimes several small flies at a time get stuck, making the box impossible to close without pulling the flies off the magnets. At the beginning of the day on the river, all the flies were nicely inserted into the pad, but as the day goes on loose flies end up in the box and make their way to the magnetic corners. Then when opening the Box the flies jump on top of the magnets requiring that you remove them before closing the Box. When I am blessed on those rare occasions that there are fish rising all around me, managing tiny flies stuck atop magnets every time I open the Box is a frustration.

Good quality but…
Very nice case but expensive. I bought it for my dry flies and it holds them in place firmly. My issue is that it is very difficult to get flies into the the slots on the edges, especially the ones along the top and bottom. Good product but probably not going to spend that much again when there are less expensive options that perform nearly as well.
