It is SUPER SOLID heavy construction, I was surprised how well built. My contractor dropped it into a cutout on a new desk built into a nook. Chose it for its USB-c plug so it has all ports I need for my work setup. It is Not a fast charge like using your device’s charger; the usb-c port took longer to fully charge an iPhone. Still, for price and convenience in my WFH setup, it’s great for a few years. It can be swapped out since it’s a “drop-in” as long as cutout dimensions match. Pop up button has soft spring so it glides up, feels classy. Bottom of unit needs a little clearance for guided cord, not meant to be left sitting on its bottom. Recommend. My Macbook Air pulls about 30 watts when charging and most phones range from 5-15 watts. Usually USB-c devices are governed to 100 watts under load depending on the battery. The device ultimately decides how much power is being drawn into the battery, not the strip. So....no matter what the max wattage is on the strip, my iPad and Macbook Air are only gonna draw what it needs and no more. Any smart device does this. If your not sure, then just use the typical wall plug (usually faster anyway) that comes with the device and use the standard outlet. Honestly, If your just using it to charge low watt devices, you shouldn't have any trouble, I haven't. Anything high voltage/wattage obviously the standard outlets to the left. A word of caution: this is not surge protected, mine is plugged into a surge protector then the wall. - Hope this helps. **Q: Is this okay to use for small appliances?** A: I've plugged in coffee pots and slow cookers. But only one at a time. **Q: Do the outlets and usb ports snap in? Can i change out for an hdmi snap in adaptor??** A: No，It is best to keep it as is and use . If you want to customize the socket, you can contact the seller **Q: How high does it pop up, from flat surface to top?** A: The high pop up from flat surface to top is : 4.4 inch ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for building into a desk *by A***N on April 10, 2022* This is meant to be built into a desk surface.
