**Q: Would this be a good choice for use with demonstrations of magnets and magnetic fields?**
A: That depends on what you're trying to do. You won't be able to make a true ferrofluid (that is, a silky smooth, low viscosity, inky black fluid), but you can indeed make a more 'chunky' magnetic fluid. You'll need strong magnets.

**Q: Would this be a good choice for making ferrofluid?**
A: In short, no! I was mislead by the first answer to this question and bought a bag to play with. The problem is particle size; ferrofluids require particles under about 10 nanometers and these are (claimed to be) 1 micron (1000 nanometers) in size. Far too large for ferrofluids, but I think I'll find something interesting to do with the stuff.

**Q: If made into putty or ink, is there a way to get this stuff to attract 'itself'? Ex: Spread the magnetized ink on 2 sheets of paper.**
A: It seems to just lay there and do nothing on it's own.  I made the putty (be sure to ware gloves when making it - it is OK to handle later)  You have to have a really strong magnet to attract it - - it is a fun science lab for kids but the  Fe3O4 is not magnetic it is attracted by a magnet.  It can be really messy !

**Q: Is this suitable for making cosmetics?  Cosmetic grade , if you will?**
A: Yes. I actually saw a video where the woman had used for cosmetics. She did much research and found that it was suitable and safe for cosmetic purposes.
