It Simply Works - Wonderfully
Our local grocery store has Bing cherries on sale and we got this pitter after pitting 10 lbs by hand using a stiff straw to push the pits through the bottom of the cherry, one cherry at a time.First of all, this little device does the job. Whether you pit 1 or 6 cherries at a time, it simply works. In fact, the most time consuming part of pitting the cherries is now taking the stems off! Simply remove the stem, place the cherries into the recessed seats of the tray and close the lid. The pits fall into the catch basin on the bottom and the pitted cherries can be removed either individually or all at once by removing the positioning tray and dumping the cherries in a bowl. Repeat...A few things of note,1) The pit catch tray is relatively shallow and you will need to dump it every 30-36 cherries to make sure the expended pits do not interfere with the next pitting operation.2) The riper the cherry, the more likely the pit will not completely separate from the cherry and you may need to scrape it off the bottom side of the positioning tray when removing the pitted cherries. The pit does come completely out of the cherry, but it held on by the ripe meat around it.3) During operation (about 10-15 lbs into our 30 lb pitting session) the storage closure hook had worked itself into the "Lock" position and when I pressed down to pit the cherries, the hook popped out of the handle. I was able to reattach the lock mechanism by simply pressing it back into the slide, but something to watch out for when using.Overall, I was very happy with the fit and function of the device.

Works very well, I successfully pitted 48 cherries in a row, 100% success. Be aware that it may take some hand strength to clamp
The first thing I wondered when I bought this was, "What percent of cherries will be fully de-pitted each round"I'd read reviews from 60-80% success with a few "danglers". Well, I just used it for the first time yesterday and de-pitted 48 cherries in a row.I was amazingly surprised when ALL 48 were successfully de-pitted! That's right 100%.I won't necessarily expect this yield every time but I would imagine 90% or greater.I wish I could give this 5 Stars, but there is still a minor issue. It takes more strength/force than expected to push the clamp all the way down. This seemed odd to me since the blades were sharp as ever, being brand new. I was using "average-size" cherries, etc.My only thought is that this is the norm of what to expect. Now, for a young whipper-snapper like me, I wouldn't say it was "difficult" to use I imagine someone with a condition like arthritis may have trouble. So just be aware.Overall, I think it's a great buy. The moderate extra amount of pressure needed is honestly a small trade-off for my 100% yield. Also, no mess and easy clean-up.

Pitting now a breeze!
After years of using a chopstick and a little patience to pit cherries I finally broke down and bought this lovely little tool. What used to take me and hour to pit a 2lb bag of cherries now only takes about 20 minutes and a lot less mess/stress. There were a few pits that made it through the process but will gladly take that as a trade off to manual pitting.

This thing is amazing. I liked it so much I started making ...
This thing is amazing. I liked it so much I started making cherry pies because it's so easy to pit cherries. The 4 stars instead of 5 is because you do need to be careful if you don't empty it every time, you can end up with some pits still in the cherry even though the pitter has cut all the way through. If you empty it each time that should not be a problem

Works Great!
This is the best Cherry Pitter I’ve ever used. Just place the cherries in the holder with the stem side up (photo 1). Close/push down and the pits are pushed through the cherry and out to the catcher (photo 2 & 3). I like to lift the cherry holder out and count the pits to be sure all were removed. I’ve only had to use a toothpick a couple time to find a missed pit still in the cherry (no big deal). (Photo 4) shows a pit hanging on that is supper easy to brush off. (Photo 5) shows the cherries all pitted and I think in great shape. Can’t wait to get my Harvest Right freeze dryer to put cherries like this in it. Just perfect for me and all my uses. Also so handy for a very fast Pitter to make the wonderful cherry pie from scratch. Excellent tool to make the job fast and easy!

Simple, safe and easy method to remove cherry pits
dang, this cherry pit remover is crazy dope. I used to be an idiot and remove pits one at a time with a knife. Talk about wasting time and risking serious injury. Now I'm adding cherries at a rapid pace to everything I consume. Just made some vanilla ice cream with cherries the other night. PIT FREE! Now I playing Warrant's Cherry Pie 24-7 in the crib just because I like this device so much. Sing it with me!

Easy to use, great for kids, can pits easily 6 cherries at once
The media could not be loaded. Great product, so easy to use. My kids love cherries and it was hard to cut them in one piece. Was looking for a pitter for a bulk at once and this was great. My kids can operate is easily and safely. Seeds are pulled quickly Into the lower lever of it and cherries are at one piece. Highly recommend.

YES!! It works on Olives!
I did a search for olive pitter and this came up. Thought I'd give a try anyway.I laughed out loud at how easy I pitted six olives. Even leaves a neat little "X" cut on one side of the olive. Snack time just got kicked up a notch!Great product, easy clean up.
