Top-Shelf Beam Scale!
Awesome scale. Spend the time extra $30 and try this one.- The poises are easy to adjust, and the grooves are just the right depth to hold them without skipping over to the next one constantly, unlike another brand I tried and immediately sent back.- It is ambidextrous.- It comes with its own clear plastic cover, and is ingeniously designed to be able to transport it in said cover to the range and back without it clanging all over the place! That feature alone is worth the extra $30.00.- It levels easily, is magnetically dampened, and IT CALIBRATED PERFECTLY WITH THE 694.6gm WEIGHT THAT IS INCLUDED. MONEY!!!RCBS did their homework on this one.

THIS SCALE IS GREAT
Another winner from RCBS. Extremely accurate and easy to set up. I use it for measuring my powder for reloading. I'm very happy with this unit. Very well made and well designed. I highly recommend this product.

Great Set of Scales
This is a very nice set of scales and appears to be very accurate. I like the way that it stores with the protective cover.

The foot that you loosen to zero scale seems loose and able to move on it’s own. Also the smallest poise was bent upon arrival. Not sure if this will affect reading but it is definitely aggravating for what you spend for this scale!

Not reliable
Mine took extra time to setup. Someone put shotshell lead pellets in the tray bottom that was completely not balanced with the measuring cup in place. I had to cut some with clippers to get it to finally balance out. It still likes to hover in same position even adding multiple grains at a time throwing off actual weight. The arm appeared bent and I have to measure multiple times hoping I’m not off much loading the rifle cases.

Don’t waste your time or money on anything else...
I bought a m500 which I soon found out was useless for measuring pistol loads because it measures 0-5 grains and 10-500, there is no in between ( so how does one measure 5.5 grains ) it doesn’t.This one does it all and my first impression is that it’s pretty accurate.I paid $119.00 at the time of purchase and it was the cheapest price available (trust that I scoured the net for the best price)

RCBS 98916 M1000 Mechanical Beam Scale
Arrived on time and was just as seller described. Easy to set up and "zero" in. But then again I'm an old school guy. I have way more faith in the mechanical scales than I do with the electronic scales. Would recommend this product. Would buy again if the need arrives,..... probably wont,.... as I'm replacing a 23 year old mechanical scale.

It was what I exspected... as I owned a 505 scale , which served well for the last 25 +yrs... but discontinued... or would of bought another... only time will tell with M-1000
