Updated review: Seller sent me an immediate replacement without me even asking for it. That alone gets points for customer service. Was able to get it to work properly the second time around. I do however, recommend that you find some detailed videos on YouTube to show you how to use it. The video link provided by the seller is garbage. No good closeup and the guy in the video is holding a black tool against a dark background, so you can't see anything! There are MUCH better videos out there and I highly recommend that you look for them. I'm going to take off 1 star for the video quality but I do thank you for the replacement tool.

I would not even try to disassemble/assemble an M1 Carbine bolt without this tool. Yes, I know there are YouTube videos that show it being done the hard way, but what those videos don't show is how many attempts it took to get the job done, how many springs and parts got launched to God knows where, and how much cussing was done while attempting it. This is a very handy tool for this task and worth every penny if you value your time and reduced frustration.

This is a must have tool! I watched a video on it made assembly of the bolt so easy! Wish I’d heard of this tool along time ago.

This tool works great. Make sure you watch a few Youtube videos before using. I took apart a bolt, manufactured in 1945 and assembled into a Universal rifle made in 1966. I found that my extractor spring plunger was broken. I quickly order from Numrich Parts and it is all fixed. What a very useful tool.

There are ways to disassemble you M1 carbine bolt without this tool, but you are risking your bolt and your sanity if you do. This makes it sooo much faster and easier. Comes with instruction, or you can check out some YouTube videos.

Had a carbine bolt that needed reassembly. If you have ever worked on one the little extractor plunger is a huge PIA to install without it flying into the nether regions of your work space. This tool made quick work of holding it all together, allowing you to fit parts if need be. You literally can't assemble a carbine bolt without one. Solid buy!!
