Best smart watch?
I have been wearing this watch daily, and nightly, for three years. I rarely review anything, but I felt this product deserved praise. From time to time I wonder if I should get a new watch. Every time I compare it with other watches, I come to the conclusion it still is the best smart watch for the money, perhaps the best smart watch, period. I use it for monitoring health, various kinds of workouts and sleep. The charging speed is fast. The battery life is ridiculously long, compared to other watches. The easy interchangeability of watch faces and bands make it stylish for all social occasions, but at the same time it is rugged enough for hard labor and intense workouts. UPDATE: Just over three years into ownership and constant use, a few functions have stopped. I find the touch face unresponsive when I am logging sets at the gym. The workout recovery readings and hypopnea sleep monitor have stopped. I still use the watch, but I am looking for a replacement. 3 years for the price and use is not bad. I may buy a new identical watch or the Balance 2 in order to get the golf features. Zepp has been fine, but I am looking at other brands that sync with other popular fitness apps. I also have noticed this watch has started to make my wrist break out occasionally. FURTHER UPDATE: After some research, I have discovered some of my latest issues may be related to the OS version of the software in my GTR3 Pro. This watch was Zepp's pioneer using OS. It started with Zepp OS 1.0. It has been updated to newer versions, but not to Zepp 5.0, which is the version in Amazon Balance 2. The Balance 2, however, costs about $200 more. Just like other technology, the GTR3 Pro hardware may not be able to use the later versions. So, like other technology, a 3-year cycle for replacement of the hardware is expected in order to keep up with the software updates and latest trends in functions and applications. Personally, I would tend to invest in a watch at a lower price point where a 3-year replacement cycle makes sense. Overall, I still recommend the watch, but a prospective buyer should understand the limitations in the software and be made aware of a few cons that have occurred recently. It still looks good and almost all functions still operate well.

Excellent smartwatch
I've had this watch about a month and a half. Excellent. I had a fitbit inspire 2, for several years. The watch is hard plastic and in changing out the bands, a piece broke off, rendering it un-usable. I thought it was a good time to upgrade to more of a smartwatch and looked at Galaxy watches, etc., but those price tags were too much, plus their battery last was give or take 1 day. Given the fact that Fitbit was bought by Google and they plan to phase those out, I didn't want to I also didn't want a cheap watch that I was going to have to replace every couple of years. I wanted a metal watch (to avoid the issue with a piece breaking off), I wanted it to have the fitness capability, and I preferred it to have the phone connections. I spent a lot of time looking and googling for reviews. This one is great. The battery lasts a long time, not quite 2 weeks, and I have several apps enabled. I have let it get down almost to zero so I could see how long I could get off one charge, and even with low battery (leas than 10%), it still lasts all day while I'm work, etc. It also charges quickly. I have used it answer the phone and reply to texts (I have an android). I enabled notifications as well as several of the fitness apps. I've used the Breathe app at night before bed. Sleeps seems to track well. I didn't realize it had features like a compass and a barometer. It reminds me to get up and walk, etc. I like that it is round vs square. It is a large face, but I have large large wrists and hands and it fits well. I got several compliments at work. I highly recommend this watch.

Good smart watch for the price and battery.
Good product. I had the previous version and liked it. I did notice this scratched more easily. It took over a year or so for the other. I kept that for almost 4.5 years before one of the buttons gave out. I find this one more annoying because the bottom button defaults to the watch audio rather than to the phone Bluetooth audio controls. The previous one did not have a watch audio and I preferred it. This feature is probably useless. I’m posting my review because I had to buy another one. I lost the watch on the street (long story) and cars ran over it. Needless to say, the watch face is busted BUT it still works! The battery lasts me about 7 days which is much better than other smart watches where you have to recharge within 1-2 days. I have A LOT of notifications.

Great mid-tier smart watch
I have worn this watch for about 10 months now. First thing I would recommend is to buy a screen protector for the watch. The glass is bound to scratch or possibly break if you spend time doing minor manual labor. Better to break a protector than the watch. I mostly use it for the GPS tracking feature on runs or walks. It is fairly accurate but I have noticed lately that satellite sync time has taken some extra time lately (past month). Zepp companion app has had great improvements in past 6 months. They now include tracking for weight, food logging (including AI photo assist for macros and calories), and additional metrics for tracking workout load. Overall, it's a great watch for under 150 dollars. Long-lasting battery with a clear screen make it a solid choice. Note that if you start having battery problems (watch drains in less than a day), you will need to restart the watch several times, plus your phone several times to fix the issue. That has happened only once but I freaked out because I was thinking the watch was built intentionally bad. It turned out that if the Bluetooth from your phone and watch don't communicate well, it sends the watch into a deathloop, attempting constant communication between the watch and the app without finishing the task.

Full of features and an awesome battery
I've had my GTR 3 Pro for about two weeks. This is my first ever smart watch or fitness tracker, I'm not an athlete, and so far I'm very happy with this watch. I can't imagine needing more workout options or settings or features... too many to list and review here. I use the Android Zepp app on my Samsung phone and there's a lot of information in the app and it's pretty intuitive to me; you use the phone app do most of the watch settings and see the super-detailed health and workout data, just make sure to keep the app running all the time. That means now your phone's bluetooth is always on, something new to me but I suppose not for a lot of people. If you're away from your phone, it all syncronizes the next time the watch and phone connect. The battery and price were my main reasons for choosing this watch (and it's round, like a watch should be). The battery is no joke: I think the manufacturer promises around 12 days, and after nine days it was at 14%. I logged a workout each day, made and answered a few phone calls, slept overnight with it on once, replied to texts, kept it connected to the phone, never turned it off, left most if not all of the default settings (screen NOT always on, heart rate every 10 minutes), and played with it a lot. No doubt results will vary. Just a couple hours to re-charge. I've read about high-brow ($$$) watches being charged once or even twice a day... that's a non-starter for me. I keep the big and responsive screen at about 15% brightness but it is on auto-brightness so you can see it out in the sun. GPS seems accurate after looking at the maps of my walks in the app... start an outside workout, tap start and give it 15 seconds or so to catch the GPS signal, the phone vibrates and you're off. Works everytime. I pretty much take the watch's word for it as far as heart rate, steps, calories and the rest of the fitness and health features. I have nothing to compare it to so works for me. The description says includes wifi but it isn't anything you can use like you might think or turn on or off as you please... might just be for transferring music to the watch. With just the companion Zepp app on your phone, you can make and answer phone calls with the watch's built-in microphone and speaker. And you can reply to text messages either with an emoji or from a selection of pre-set responses that you can edit or add to (you make/edit these using the Zepp app on your phone, they're syncronized to the watch, and the responses appear on your watch when you tap reply to a text). Works great. You can't create a text with the watch (maybe thru Alexa, not sure). There's a little app store in the Zepp phone app (maybe 20 apps), where you can download small apps to the watch (stocks, calculator, etc.). I am an Alexa newbie but it also works fine. Set-up is a bit clunky using the manual and Zepp app but after going through the process a couple times it works. We don't have anything else Alexa in the house so still figuring out what to do with her besides weather, lists, etc. I'm still using the supplied brown band... not sure if it's really leather but it is comfy and looks good. I was worried most about the large size of the watch with my skinny wrists, but it looks ok even with a separate cover that adds a couple mm to the overall size. I had a cover over the whole watch before I ever turned it on, so I can't comment on scratch resistance and such. I immediately cover all my devices and screens and there are several protection options on Amazon. By the way it can be worn on the right wrist, too, by swapping the band around and settings to flip the screen and buttons. Easy peezy. I've loaded over 200 MP3s to the watch and have over 1G memory left. It connects perfectly to my cheap bluetooth ear buds and so far stays connected. The watch comes with about five or six watch faces pre-installed, but through the Zepp app on your phone you can download more. A lot of them cost a couple bucks but I can't count the free ones. Loading a new face onto your watch takes a couple of taps and it's installed and active on your watch. I've downloaded one of the several separate phone apps just for Amazfit faces and it offers hundreds more for free and works great. I can't imagine anyone wanting more free watch faces, they just don't all come pre-installed on the watch. Nor should they, taking up memory space. Delete and download new faces as you feel the need for change. On the negative side I have yet to get the offline voice commands to do anything. These are built-in voice commands that let you speak to open apps and control some watch features. They are separate from talking to Alexa, which works fine for me. I haven't really sought a solution yet because it's just too easy to get to everything on the watch by swiping or rotating the crown button. The Zepp app does use a good chunk of phone memory... whenever I check it is using between 600 and 800MB of internal storage. Could be alot for some phones and I've no idea if the app can be moved to external phone storage. Hopefully it can. I recommend keeping an open mind when reading some of the negative reviews based on one or two features out of the 50 things the watch does (like 1-star reviews because the customer doesn't like having to use the rotating crown to navigate the display, or couldn't get an old watch's face on this new watch, or too hard to install watch faces (no... it's super easy), or one feature it doesn't even advertise it can do but it "should" do... I don't understand one-star reviews like that). Overall it's a great smart watch value with a long list of useful features. UPDATE After I had the watch for weeks I learned there are watchfaces with tap-able/shortcut spots on them, that'll take you directly to different apps in the watch... steps, weather, heart, alarms, etc. And, if you tap on the city name in the weather app you can select other cities that are in the weather section of the Zepp app on your phone. I did that accidentally one day. I had no idea.

Love love love!!!
The Amazfit GTR3 Pro smart watch deserves 5+ stars! I'm loving it. It is the best smart watch for the money in my opinion. I am a protectionist so I normally buy name brand things because they are normally better, for the most pay at least. But one of the main reasons I chose this is the battery life. A Google or Samsung watch has to be recharged every day. I along with most people charge their devices at night. But if you charge at night you can not make use of the sleep analysis which is one of the most important features for me. It says the GTR 3 Pro last for 12 days, what a huge difference! I got mine 04/22/2024, it's now 05/01/2024 and the battery level is at 13%. I also have all the high battery use features (minus always on display) turned on so that is impressive. The display is high quality-very clear, vibrant, and bright. Another reason why I choose this is because it has Alexa built in. It's very handy to have especially if you have a lot of smart devices. I really like how the top side button is a scroll wheel to easily navigate thru text messages, notifications, menus etc.. The Zepp app is awesome. The Aura feature inside Zepp app is amazing! It's very advanced, it plays brain frequencies, heart beat, melodies, and nature sounds to help you sleep, meditate, it just relax. What makes it so advanced and special is it monitors you as it plays different sounds and finds what sounds effect you the most and uses those to help you fall asleep faster. It works way better than I imagined it would. It works so well I end up sleeping with my ear buds in all night. I normally listen to sleep hypnosis videos on YouTube and remove my ear buds whenever I wake up for the first time during the night. With Aura I don't wake up any to be able to take the ear buds off. That speaks volumes. I could go on and on but if you want a good smart watch this is 100% the one to get!!

Does NOT track 24 hour calorie burn
In order for me to lose weight, I must eat 500 calories less food than I burn in a day. Therefore, I must know the actual calorie burn and adjust my food intake accordingly. Given the fact that my days are not routine (I don't sit in a cube all day, every day) my calorie burn can vary by as much as 2000 calories from one day to the next. I once worked at a physio lab and had access to clinical tools to measure metabolic rates and I can make a pretty good guess at what I burn on a lazy day and on a physically demanding day (hauling and spreading dirt all day, for example) after using those tools for over three years on myself. However, in order to lose the weight in a methodical manner, I can't guess, I have to KNOW what my calorie burn is so I may adjust how many calories I consume. Unfortunately, this watch does NOT provide that information. It will tell you how many calories you burn for a given activity like running or lifting weights, but that's it. I contacted support and they confirmed this. As much as I wanted to love this watch (and there is a LOT to love!) the lack of this information is a deal killer for me. It was the only reason I got this watch and needless to say, I was really disappointed to learn of this weakness. Things I love about this watch: incredible display. Bright and beautiful. The ability to load apps to the watch. Very comfortable to wear. Adequate support; only took a couple of days to reply to my email and they actually answered my question, albeit a disappointing reply but at least they told me the truth. OS is quite intuitive. Most of the other measurements appear to be more or less accurate. Step counter is very close to actual although this watch suffers from an issue that pretty much all wrist pedometers exhibit and that is a dramatic undercount when pushing a shopping cart through a grocery store. Love the weather app. Many of the functions work well, like playing music and linking your cell phone to it. The internal speaker sounds about like you'd expect from a watch; tinny and thin but certainly audible. Not an audiophile experience for sure! SPO2 is accurate. Heart rate is accurate, but only if you are relatively inactive. It is NOT accurate during exercise. I compared heart rate to my venerable Polar HRM with the chest strap and this watch is way way too high during exertion. My theoretical max heart rate is 156. During a spirited walk, this watch claimed my heart rate was 164. If that was true, I'd need an ambulance!! My Polar HRM indicated a HR of 124, which is accurate (I stopped and actually counted). GPS seemed to work fine but I didn't use it much. I ended up with the Fitbit Charge 5 which DOES provide the information I desire even though it has significant weaknesses (like no real apps for it even though it purports to allow for them). Bottom line: if you are only interested in activities or any of the other measurements it provides, this is a great watch. However, if you are attempting to lose weight as I am and are tracking your calories in and out, this won't cut it.

At First Disappointed, But Then Pleasantly Amazed!
Please take note: This review ultimately ends with a positive impression and I would easily recommend this as a purchase. This review covers my experience with the first watch I ordered, and then the subsequent replacement. FIRST TRY: Wow. What a disappointment. Just received mine in the mail yesterday. Opened it, charged it, synced it to the app and tried it on. So far the most basic features are accurate. Time, weather, Bluetooth calls and messages, notifications. Even the compass and barometer work. Connecting through Bluetooth was fairly seamless. I'm not sure the step counter is all that accurate. It seems... sluggish, to say the least. The biggest problem with this watch is the one that will matter to most anyone who buys it. The sensor/s. Either they aren't strong enough, or they don't work well enough to be accurate. This watch only has one visible sensor that is presumably supposed to perform all the functions that this watch claims to have. I happen to have an Amazfit GTS 2e, and a Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 3 GPS. Both watches have a total of five sensors, and reliably track heart rate, breathing and other stats. This GTR 3 Pro is still fairly new, and should perform better than it does, but so far... it's not great. I've only been able to get the sensor to work in one of two ways. One is by wearing it with the sensor directly over the underside of my wrist, where you take your pulse. The other is by pressing my finger over the sensor, which clearly is not ideal. The other oddity is that while the watch's weather app works perfectly, AND accurately detects your location, the GPS refuses to work when starting a workout like a simple walk. There's a ton of apps on the watch, and even more available through the Zepp App. But so far, the only fitness feature that works smoothly is the pedometer. It shouldn't be this difficult to get a device to work. I've had a mostly good experience with my Amazfit GTS 2e, so I thought this newer watch would be better by leaps and bounds. So far, the only thing that is better is the design, and the gorgeous display. That's a shame, because right now there are $30 smartwatches on Amazon that perform just as well, or better than this one. Reading through the reviews for Amazfit devices doesn't inspire much confidence. Although many of the devices have four and a half stars, that's usually based on a small number of reviews, and it's usually just over half that give those high marks. A little less than half usually express disappointment for the same issues. Poor performance and accuracy for the one thing these watches are supposed to do. Track health & fitness. I'm going to keep testing this thing for a week. Maybe the watch will perform better once broken in a bit. As of now, I couldn't recommend this watch to anyone. This watch used to be over $200. Now it's a little over $100. Maybe the poor functionality is why. First Update: I've now used this thing for four days. The GPS finally worked on a six mile walk. Unfortunately, because the sensor was not detecting any heart rate, the only data I got from that walk was steps counted, distance, and the speed at which I was walking. I couldn' even get a PAI score because of heart rate tracking being absent. I had to shave a small area of baby fine hairs on my wrist, and reboot the watch before it finally began reading heart rate, and I'm not even sure it was accurate. My Ticwatch usually shows my resting heart rate hovering around 96 BPM. The GTR 3 showed a resting rate of roughly 76 BPM. Even so, tracking of my vitals only lasted for about two hours, and then stopped for no reason. It didn't come back for an entire day, until I restarted the watch once more. I've never had these issues with my Ticwatch, but my Amazfit GTS 2e has been tricky like this. This doesn't speak well for the Amazfit brand. On the positive side, even after four days with all tracking and features turned on, I still have 54% of battery left. Flicking my wrist brings the screen to life with ease. The touch screen can be sluggish or clunky sometimes. I'll do one last update before deciding whether I'll return this thing. Final Update : It dawned on me that I may have just gotten a defective unit. I returned it and received a replacement in three days. Now, everything works perfectly, and then some. The battery life alone is quite extraordinary. Six days straight with all features turned on before I needed to recharge. All tracking feels accurate. Syncing was smooth and without any glitches. Alexa works perfectly. Considering that even premium WearOS smartwatches have had Google Assistant pulled from them, Amazfit and Apple watches are the only option outside of WearOS that offer a useful Assistant app. The display, the battery life, and even the app support on Amazfit devices is better than what WearOS is offering. In my mind, Amazfit is the only true alternative to an Apple Watch.

Great bang for the buck! But...
I love how the setup is so easy, the watch faces are very quick to download and sync. Sooo many watch face options. I was previously using Fitbit Sense, and somehow the Gtr 3 pro feels like an upgrade for about half the price of a Fitbit Sense. Battery life is pretty good so far, have not charged for 2 days and it is only at 88%. My only gripes are (1) cannot sync with the Healthy 365 app (Singapore's Health Promotion Board's app) and (2) the colour brown is probably referring to the strap colour only as the watch case closer to gunmetal grey colour. But otherwise, this watch is really a good buy. Great bang for the buck!

Fantastic economical purchase
I love this watch. Light, good looking and delivers all features as described. Great assistant in hikes, runs and swimming. I have taken this watch to saunas, really hot ones and steam rooms. So far, no issues whatsoever. I usually take small cloth and dip it in cold water, wrap around the watch before going to sauna which is usually over 115 C. I do intermittent heat with cold plunges. Love to be able to monitor my vitals and follow the timing of sessions. I highly recommend this watch , it beats with reliability brand watches I used to own. I am really impressed how well it is made and how well it functions.

AmazFit GTR 3 Pro - awesome watch that just misses the mark :-(
I wanted so much to write a VERY upbeat review, but just couldn’t. I’ve grouped my LIKES and DISLIKES so you can make up your own mind about this watch. Likes - works with iPhones and Android phones. Likes - screen very big, bright & clear. Likes - alerts easy to hear & understand. Likes - VERY long battery life & quick to recharge. Likes - half the price of an Apple Watch. Dislikes - VERY confusing iPhone app & setup. Dislikes - step count inaccuracy (off by 20%) this was the killer. Dislikes - watch band attachment method. Dislikes - the included watch band too small. A beautiful looking smartwatch, with a lovely display; but a STEP total off by 20% (too low) just killed it for me. I so wanted this to be the right replacement for my Fitbit Versa 3 (the face/bezel on my Versa 3 popped off, apparently a common problem). Instead I’m stuck with a Fitbit Versa 4, so sad. :-(
