- 1.25 INCH GALVANIZED STEEL, THREADED AT EVERY JOINT - Powder-coated finish with walls built to hold 30 lbs without flexing or leaning. No push-fit connections on this pole. Galvanized and powder-coated to resist rust through rain, snow, and full sun exposure.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: FAQ 1: Is the UPK squirrel-proof?**
A: The UPK is a mounting pole, not a squirrel-proof system. It works with the Squirrel Stopper Standard Baffle (sold separately). For built-in squirrel protection with a patented spring baffle, choose the Squirrel Stopper Denali.

**Q: FAQ 2: What kinds of feeders and houses does this work with?**
A: The UPK is made for post-mounted bird feeders and birdhouses, not hanging feeders. Compatible with hopper, platform, and fly-thru feeders, plus bluebird and wood duck houses. If it mounts from the bottom, the UPK fits.

**Q: FAQ 3: Can I make this pole taller?**
A: Yes — the UPK is compatible with 12" and 24" pole extenders (sold separately). Standard install puts the feeder approximately 5 feet above ground. With the 12" extender, that becomes ~6 feet. With the 24" extender, ~7 feet.

**Q: FAQ 4: Does installation require tools or concrete?**
A: Neither. The included cross tube lets you auger the base into ground by hand — no shovel, no concrete, no tools. Assembly takes about 20 minutes for most installers.

**Q: FAQ 5: How is the UPK different from a standard mounting pole?**
A: Built with threaded joints, 1¼-inch galvanized steel, a screw-in auger base, and a universal top/side-mount flange. Unlike standard poles with thin steel and step-in spikes, it stays secure even in soft or wet ground.
