Camco 6 Gallon RV Hot Water Hybrid Heat easily converts any 6-gallon RV LP gas water heater to 120V electricity on demand, helping to conserve propane. Its stainless steel heating cartridge heats the water to temperatures ranging from 90° to 150°?F. The kit includes ON/OFF power switch with mounting bracket and fully adjustable thermostat. All necessary power cords and color-coded wire assemblies are also included. 15 A/120 V electrical service is required for use. The thermostat is factory preset to 120° F.

Review: Excellent Product - Over the past couple years, I've spent hundreds of dollars on LPG. I have also been tired of switching my Atwood LPG water heater on and off to save money, and the unit not working when it's raining. So, I decided to look into electric elements for RV gas heaters. The one here seemed to be the best one I could get for the money. Installation was straight-forward and simple. First step: read the instructions (and take your time). The instructions were well written, and easy to read, even had illustrations, which came in handy, as I'm more of a carpenter than an electrician. I followed the instructions step by step, double-checked everything, and when I was finished, turned the unit on. It took around an hour for the water to heat up to the pre-set 120F, but once it got there, it keeps it there really well. I do know that this unit will save me a ton of money on propane. I've had the unit switched on for a couple weeks now, continuously, with no problems or issues, just hot water.

The wiring diagram was in color, and all wires and connectors were color-coded. The power cord was several feet long, as was the cable that connects to the lighted power switch. All parts are high quality. The thermostat is a standard water heater unit, so if it ever fails, it can be replaced with an off-the-shelf one from any hardware store. My RV water heater is under the closet behind the drawers. There was an electrical outlet available in the enclosed space, so the unit just plugged in. I mounted the power switch (panel-mount type) through the panel just below the drawers where it could be seen and accessed easily. Recovery time from a cold tank without the LP turned on is a few hours, which is to be expected from a single 110-VAC heating element. Once the tank was heated up, I had plenty of hot water, plus it was a bit hotter than before, so I needed less of it for dishes or showering. I set the electrical thermostat a few degrees higher than the LP thermostat, so the LP gas never runs unless hot water usage is high and the tank temperature drops below the LP thermostat setting. Since electricity is included in RV space rents, I can actually turn the LP completely off and have hot water like I normally do without ever using any LP gas. I would definitely recommend this kit.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Haven't used propane to heat water since I converted my water heater!

Ok...for anyone still heating water in your RV with propane, GET THIS. I installed this in our travel trailer earlier this year & we've been on 3 camping trips so far. We have yet to use propane to heat our water. This does a great job heating the water & it's not as slow as some people may say. Yeah, the kit is not cheap, but neither is propane. This will pay for itself in very fast. I also installed an external 120v receptacle on the travel trailer so I can then plug the electric water heater directly into the power panel at the campground instead of one the outlets inside of the camper, that way I'm not adding an extra load to the main power to the camper. Overall this was an easy install, the only issue I had was a propane line that needed to be slightly adjusted to clear the heating element. Otherwise it went well & has been working wonderfully. I definitely recommend getting this for your RV.
