Keep on Kovers X for Speedplay X Series Cleats Protection Cover

I have been using the Speedplay X pedals for 25+ years and love them. I currently have 4 pairs - two pairs on my road bikes and front ans back non the tandem. The only downside I have experienced is the cleats wear when you walk on them. Eventually they wear out the screws that hold them to the shoes and they have to be drilled out.Enter Keep on Kovers X. They cover the cleats so there is no wear when you walk on them. I have three pairs of shoes with Speedplay cleats and have yet to wear out the Keep on Kovers. The bonly problem I had was when I first started using them. I had one of the Keep on Kovers come off while walking. I put a dab of adhesive under the keep on Kover and problem solved.This was several years ago but I believe I put a dab of Clement Red Tubular Cement or 3M Super 77 Adhesive (whatever I was using to glue my tires on at the time) under the Keep on Kover. Not enough that I couldn't pry the Kover off if I wanted. I suppose a silicone adhesive would work also.Anyway, this is an incredible product and I highly recommend it.

I've used speedplay X-2 pedals for 20 years. With the solid cleat covers, like the kool kovers. While needed, they are a pain in the ass. They don't stay on consistently. You have to take them off to ride, put them on as soon as you step off.BUT, these covers, the KEEP ON KOVERS: WOW! Granted, I put them on new cleats. But I'm having no problem keeping them on, they went on tight, and seem to stay on very well. I love that I can just clip in with them on. You unclip, step down, and you have traction. Where have you been all my life!I highly recommend these. If you need to, use some adhesive if they don't go on/stay on tight.

Perfect covers because they protect my cleats when walking but do not obstruct the cleat when clicking into my pedals.

This is my third pair. I have 2 pairs of cycling shoes-home and work. I also bought a pair for my wife when she gets confident enough for clip-in pedals. So far, I've lost a right and a left lover in 2 months because they don't stay on. They make it difficult to clip in and out and they come off when standing in them while waiting for a green light. Not buying anymore until they can make them stay in the clips.

Definitely a good buy. They protect the cleats from wear and dirt (to some extent ... only so much a cover can do before it would affect the cleat function) and do not interfere with the step in capability. Suspect it pays for itself with reduced wear of the metal cleat. They provide a much more secure walking surface ... and probably protect the floors you walk on. Only downside is that the covers can fall off, but not a major concern. Nice design.

They snapped right onto my speedplay x series. Appears to work with my X/5 pedals. This will definitely preserve the cleat which is no longer in production. I saw that some are saying that the covers do not stay on. I am not too sure but could it be that they are using the older version cleat? I am currently using the updated X Series V2, and the cover snapped right on and is holding firm.

If you are a Speedplay guy or gal then these are exactly what you need! Put them on your cleats and walk around without problems. Great for when you get on your bike because they help guide you in on the cleat then press to snap. Simple. Great for when you get off your bike because you can walk around without metal banging the ground and dirt mashing into the cleat. Outstanding product!!!

I bought four times within two years. This piece is hard to put it on but it is very easy to slide off from bike shoes cleat. I need this to protect my cleat but at the same time I am frustrated because I kept losing it, tried to glue it and still didn't work. I wonder why Amazon carries low quality products like this and sacrifice customers' satisfaction.
