The media could not be loaded. It's a really nice size for her track, and works really well on it! So far the battery life has been great and she keeps it on A LOT. The design is really nice especially because they actually made each of these trains have specialtys like in the show! Diesel is strong and hard to derail, kana is the fastest but will derail more, Thomas is fast but also steady but can be detailed but deisel. Percy and Nia are the slowest of them all but are pretty steady on the track. Definitely an amazing gift. My daughter gets so much entertainment value with these. We have all of these and all of the talking ones as wellBEWARE OF HAIR!!!! these can very very easily get caught in long hair and often get out 2 Golden's shedded hair in the wheels and we have to clean them out with tweezers. They have also gotten stuck in both our dogs tail fur and had to be cut out. So keep that in mind.

We got the orange plastic Thomas & Friends Motorized Toy Train Battery Powered Engine with Cargo for Pretend Play and are satisfied. It's a cute train, a friend of Thomas The Train, has a cargo cart that tags along behind the engine, and runs on batteries which are easy to install as long as you have a teeny tiny phillipshead screw driver. Pay more careful attention than we did when ordering and clicking on the numbers of trains you want to order because we see we did order two by mistake. This was no one's fault but our own, and we could have sent one back. But, the price was so good, and the train so cute, we kept it. We just figured though we usually give money for birthday presents, now we have a keener birthday present for our grandson who is absolutely obsessed with trains! It's practically all he plays with. We ordered this train engine for our house for him to run on our set of Brio train tracks so he has something to play with when he comes to visit. I looked at a LOT of engines and I admit I picked this one because of the great price, and I knew it might not be as powerful as other more pricey engines, but for all the oftener this grandson comes to visit and all the oftener it will be played with by our other grandchildren, this engine will do. it may not be as powerful an engine as others, but I'm sure it will do fine with the one cart it has attached. We are satisfied with this purchase and would recommend with the qualification that though it is cute and an authentic Thomas Friend, and easy enough to load with batteries if you have the right tool, you should not expect it to be as powerful as other more expensive engines out there. But, I will add an amendment if I ever do an actual comparison.

Great quality, durable, easy to insert batteries, my 4-year-old loves them. He played with some at a friend’s house and talked about them nonstop, so I added them to his Christmas list… They are ALL he’s wanted to play with since! He told me, “Mom, you did GOOD! These are my FAVORITE!” — so I consider that a win. 10/10 purchase!

The media could not be loaded. Bought Thomas and Nia for my train loving 4 year old. We have many non-battery operated but this was our first battery powered set. The trains fit on the tracks and go around when the tracks are flat just fine. However they do not fit under the bridges and are not able to go up hill with or without the trailer attached. My kids more frequently play with them off the tracks, like putting things in the trailer to pull along. Picture shows size comparison to regular train. As I’m sure many kids do, it’s fun to connect all the train cars together to make along train, this does not allow for that due to the size difference and not having the magnetic connection.It’s still fun, decent quality, but I would have liked to see it more compatible with the rest of the train sets.
