Eddie is a fast-talking, Three-card Monte dealer who has hustled the streets of New York City for the last 15 years. One day he’s visited by a mysterious man who offers him an unusual proposition. He must transfer his spirit to a different body for three weeks in exchange for redemption. This way an old and ailing man named Sam can use Eddie’s body to play Santa Claus for one more Christmas.

Sweet, Unique Christmas Movie
My expectations for this movie weren't high, but I really enjoyed it. A dying old man who has played Santa for a toy store for many years begs God (or St. Nick) to play just one more time. A young con artist meets a mysterious guy named Nick who offers him $1,000,000 to switch bodies with the sick old man for 3 weeks. During the time the con man lives in the old man's body, he gets a glimpse of genuine love and caring he's never seen before, and it changes him. When he's returned to his own body, he ends up giving away the million he earns to many of the people he's conned in the past. Then he begins courting the daughter of the old man. An unexpectedly sweet movie.

Great for your average low-budget Christmas film
So if you've found this movie's review section you're likely looking for low-budget Christmas films already. If you're not going in prepared for that experience, you'll obviously be disappointed. But I really enjoyed this film for what it is. Acting was ok to good, plot was fairly good. I know I'm not selling this too well but I definitely enjoyed it and would recommend it.The only two things which bugged me were the forced reindeer/santa trick plot device and one seemingly out of place scene. You'll know that scene when you get to it. As for the reindeer trick as a plot device, it works really well and carries you through the whole movie. But for the first 20 minutes they sort of hamfist it into the dialogue too much, like a lot too much. I guess it's worth it for the way it gets used for the rest of the film.TL;DR: If you made it to this review section, you should watch this movie. You'll like it.

Little weird, but cute and fun.
It is a bit of a weird movie, but it's pretty cute and very fun. I loved the elderly man. Great actor. I especially loved him during the body switching. The Santa ghost guy was a little weird and the toy store lady was a very cliche power hungry boss lady, but it actually surprised me. I'm doing a thing where I'm watching one Christmas movie every night through Christmas, not skipping the cheesy ones, and this one is getting added to my list to rewatch. I really enjoyed myself and the message was good. And the acting wasn't completely horrific like other cheesy Christmas movies I have watched. All around, they did a good job.

It Grabbed My Heart
The beginning set up seemed a bit slow and perhaps a tad complicated. I wasn't sure I would actually like the movie. It snuck up on me though and really did grab my heart. There's some sadness here, some sweetness, and some much needed Christmas miracles for people you come to care about. It's a heartwarming story and that's exactly what a good holiday movie should be. May your holidays be good ones this year.

I loved the magic of how this mysterious man helps this ...
I loved the magic of how this mysterious man helps this scrooge of a con artist man learn the meaning of Christmas through an old man's body who is the Christmas Spirit we all love. I would watch it again. The only con I could think of is it is a modern movie of Scrooge. There may be many out there yet, I think this one is worth seeing because it is a movie that will make you feel good. People can change from being self absorbed to wanting be a good person once they see the light.

Bleh with Bells
I had reasonably high hopes for this movie because of its cast, but even decent actors couldn't overcome the script's lack of warmth. This movie's brief best moments were thinly disguised echoes from the original "Miracle On 34th Street." A couple of times, I thought I heard a disgusted moan from Jacob Marley's ghost. In between its nicest of Christmas moments was too much dark, shadowy evil that made the bright moments seem as if the film makers were saying, "Here's the requisite warm fuzzy Christmas stuff, folks. Now - back to what life is really like." They tried to pull it out with a romantic ending, but impressive it was not. Maybe tales of Christmas were once like that, historically speaking, and maybe some people find that warm and comforting, but it's not what I want from a Christmas film today.

Good movie
What a fun movie. May not be suitable for the entire family due to some colorful language but the movie itself is very good.

A true Christmas movie --with a different plot
A light hearted movie about the real meaning of Christmas and life in general. A very different plot line that you would expect from most Christmas movies. Of course not the best, but good for the season

Switch what? - the Writers!
This movie attempts to demonstrate that we all deserve another chance. But...the major premise of an old dying man wanting to play Santa one more time is selfish. The person named Sam who has played Santa for many years is unable to understand the consequences of his desire. He is actually only thinking of himself. How could a person play Santa knowing that he is in poor health and may die at any time? Imagine the impact on the children waiting in line and sitting on his lap if he dies in front of them. This is an event that children will not be able to erase from their memories. In case you think that this could not happen, well he does die on Christmas eve. The story would have been better if this was based on a dying man's wish to play Santa for the last time and this wish was granted by an angel who would allow him to live until after Christmas. Also, the part of the greedy business who only thinks of profits from beginning to end should have been written differently. Santa should have had an impact on the store's Christmas spirit. Maybe the success rate of converting the crooks in the story from 0% to 25-50% should have been 100%. Again, Santa should have had an impact on all four crooks. After all, this is a Christmas movie. Natasha Henstridge, Cedric Smith and Brian Krause acted well in their respective roles in spite of the average and ordinary script.
