KEEPS GOING AND GOING! LONG BATTERY AND AWESOME FUNCTIONALITY!
Keeps Going and Going! Okay, so not the energizer bunny, but this controller has lasted me about 60+ hours of game play so far without showing any signs of stopping. I have two of these and they work great together. My brother is an over-the-road trucker (and I'm a disabled veteran). When he's home on the weekends, I tend to play a lot of these spectacular games with him. We often lose track of time and play for several hours each day. We have never had any lag, or connectivity issues. Some things to keep in mind are the fact that you need to plug in directly to the wall outlet (surge protector, etc.) using the included power supply. It takes power to allow the signal to do it's job via the dongle (and it can't accomplish this long periods of time using a mere USB port on your television). The ability to access the home screen has saved this system and brought it from zero to hero in no time! Okay, it was always a hero, but the controller was lacking before this beauty came along. It's actually slightly less elongated than the original controller, but also slightly taller. The indentations in the controller allow for an ergonomic fit (compared to the original). Also, it's lightweight and balanced! NO LAG! I had to mention that again, because I have played every single game on here multiple multiple times, and it works amazing every time! The batteries are even balanced in the controller as one goes on each side of the controller! In short, buy two and stop worrying about the negative reviews (most of the time, they are competitors or someone not reading all of the instructions). As for the sync issues, the only time I have to "resync" is during start up and it's literally as simple as holding start button for like 1 second. I have NEVER had the controller need a resync in the middle of a game at all!!! ENJOY!

I got no strings, to hold me down (anyone? anyone?)
I was very fortunate in that I was able to get a NES Mini for my birthday. However, much to my dismay, after unwrapping the package, I discovered what many other NES Mini owners have been on about...short cables (hell of an oversight there, Nintendo). Most notably, the controller cable is incredulously short...I don't remember my original NES having such short controller cables, but back then, cordless phones were all the rage, so there's that.To get around this, I connected the mini using a 10 foot HDMI cable (I don't know why I have this) and an equally long power cable (ANY Micro-USB 2.0 cable will work...don't get suckered in by uselessly fancy titles and overpay for what is the equivalent of a non-Apple phone charger). But nobody likes having cables running from the display, across the floor, onto a table in front of you, just so you can use the packaged controller (which really does feel smaller than I remember). So naturally, I reached for my (wireless!) phone, and pulled up the My Arcade GamePad Classic - Wireless Controller!Ordered on Amazon, arrived on a Sunday (weird!), plugged them in (I ordered 2), and I was rockin' and rollin' without a hitch! The D-Pad is very nice and responsive; the squared A and B buttons were a little odd upon first impression, but they respond smoothly and quickly (important for Punch-Out...more on this later); the back of the controller has this deep(ish) groove in the back that isn't bothersome and makes gripping the controller easy; but notice that I have said nothing about the "Select" and "Start buttons. The center buttons (select and start) are located towards the top of the controller. While this may seem like a small shift, it unfortunately DOES result in a few missed opportunities in games where you may need to pause very quickly (The Legend of Zelda uses the "select" key to pause the game), or you may need to use a super punch (the "start" key in Punch-Out!) but the window of opportunity is but a few seconds, and you're frantically pressing your thumb where the "start" key USED to be (muscle memory can be useless here). This is a somewhat small gripe, but it's a gripe nonetheless (but not quite enough for me to take a full star). However, the wireless functionality is pretty amazing and you can use 2 controllers simultaneously without any hiccups. If you stop using the controller for a short period of time, the controller does disconnect from the receivers, but just remember to hit a button before you un-pause a game and you'll be fine (I don't get ppl who complain about this. Seriously...press a button and give it a second.)Overall, these controllers are pretty awesome, and at this pricepoint, they're hard to argue against (seriously, the $40 controllers are beyond ridiculous as far as price is concerned). I can't speak to battery life because I haven't had them that long and I don't play as long as I'd like, but go to the dollar store (or..uh...go to Amazon! yeah!) and get some triple A batteries and you'll be fine.TL;DR VersionPROS: Wireless; Responsive buttons; Wireless; D-Pad is accurate and comfortable; Wireless; Controller is comfortable in-hand; Wireless; Projected battery life is good (but unconfirmed as yet)CONS: Select and Start buttons are awkwardly placed, which leads to taking punishment in Punch-Out (I miss the "Mike Tyson's" part of that title);NOT-A-PRO-OR-CON: Controller can temporarily disconnect with lack of activity, but just press a button (other than the PAUSE) to restore the connection before you resume your game.

Something from DreamGear that isn't crap!
I found two of these at BB so decided to try, since they are only 14.99 at retail. I tested two at once on the NES Classic and they synced up and worked just fine in Super C. I haven't used them enough to comment on battery life yet. Only the controller synced to the player 1 port can control the NES menu, but both players can reset the system...that's right, for some crazy reason they aren't advertising the system reset/menu feature on these...just press start and select at the same time and voila! no more getting up off the couch to save or change games. Ergonomically, these kinda suck, as they are not very wide, and the rear is boxy due to the battery compartments being split on either side of the controller (each holds a single AAA battery). It feels lightweight and plasticky, and the buttons look translucent in the advertising pictures but are a cheap, matte red plastic in real life. Of course, the biggest issue on 3rd party pads is the d-pad, and I'm happy to report that these have fine pads. My biggest issue is that the cross is narrower and lower than the real deal and the 8bitdo controllers, so it is not as nice under the thumb. But, pressing a direction gives a subtle click, like the pad on the New 3DS or Xbox One controller, which is quite nice. Diagonals work just fine; no falling off ladders on SMB 2. Overall, I like the weight, makeup, and feel of the Emio Edge Gamepad quite a bit bitter, but those are wired (they also offer turbo but no reset function). I would use this controller over the stock controller in almost any situation except maybe having the console on a desk, connected to a monitor, and the Emio otherwise, since it's d-pad sits about 30-40% higher than the stock NES cross, which feels a lot better under the thumb. But as far as wireless goes, these are good...also, the dongles are smaller than Nyko's and a lot, lot less ugly (they are actually black with a single white light to indicate successful pairing).

Connection problems and shocks!
I want to love these. They worked great for an hour and now the connection just drops constantly. I cant keep them paired. I would be fine with it if the game paused when the pairing drops but instead you just lose.UPDATE: resetting the nintendo corrects the issue temporarily however the controller also shocked me tonight, which cannot be a good sign.Update 2/6/17 - when using both wireless controllers the pairing consistently quits on the second controller, regardless of which one i use as controller 2. I have also been shocked multiple times from the side of the controller. I cannot recommend these and am returning them today.

The controllers that should have come with the Mini NES console
I would recommend these controllers to anyone who was lucky enough to get a mini nes classic. They work as advertised and give you the much needed wireless freedom. They pair perfectly right out of the box. The other people writing reviews saying otherwise either got defective products (which is entirely possible) or don't read the directions on how to properly pair them. After you pair them once all you have to do (this is what I do each time) is press the start button once while the wireless dongle is blinking upon start up. The controller re pairs and you are good to go. Works from my couch which is about 15ft away (they advertise 30ft). Really like the controllers themselves. I truly believe (and I am an old school gamer) that these controllers are more comfortable and work better than the old nes controllers. BIG BONUS: When you press both the start and select buttons together, the console resets (taking you back to the main menu) for easy game saving! Wow! What an amazingly simple feature that is so convenient and smart it really makes you wonder why Nintendo did not do all of this in the first place. I was a little worried about the reviews when I first bought these, but so long as you know how to follow simple directions and pair wireless devices, you will be good to go. Just buy them if you are on the fence ;)

Great purchase
This is the first non-OEM I've bought so far and it works great. The Home button is a must-have I didn't expect. No more having to keep the mini NES close to go back to the games menu or save it.

Works good but with limitations
It's nowhere near the quality of an Xbox or PS controller but it gets the job done. When I first used it I was getting very frustrated due to connection problems. It got to the point where it was completely unusable. I decided to move a little closer to the console/TV and it fixed the problem. So the limitation is it works as long as you stay about 6 feet or less from the console. I also noticed that it will lose the connection if there is no direct line of sight between the controller and the receiver so make sure the path is clear.

Average wireless controller for my NES Classic Edition
I’m giving it three stars because it connects wirelessly to my NES Classic Edition, but it loses stars for not being very accurate. When I play Dr. Mario, I can easily tell that the buttons and direction pad aren’t quite as accurate as other controllers I have used. Also, every once in a while the buttons will stop reacting to gameplay which is really annoying.
