do the hinges in the back have a pin ,and are the hinges plastic or metal?

Yes, we add a metal bar in the back to provide more strength, durability and make the hand tool box lid moves freely as it opens or closes.

Is this box lockable?

I don't believe it is lockable without doing some modification to it.

How well does the clear top tray lid stay closed?

It stays closed pretty well. It snaps shut. I wouldn't put anything in there that would put pressure on the clear part, though. Plastic tends to deform over time if something is pressing on it. But if you just have some loose parts or something, it should be pretty secure the way they snap closed.

How waterproof is this toolbox?

It is made out of plastic, so the plastic itself will shed rain, etc. However, there are no seals or gaskets between the top and bottom, so if you drop it into water, the water will get in.
