I use this light on my covered porch, probably about 4x6 in area. The light lights up the area comfortably. It isn't too dark, isn't too bright. I can easily distinguish who is outside through a window and peephole at night with the light on. With the length of the cord, was able to put the solar panel on the roof a good 10 ft up. And the first night of use, it lasted from 5 pm to about 7 am. A full night, which was surprising.Edit 12/12 The last few days have been overcast throughout most of the day. The light lasted from about 5 pm to around 11 pm.Edit 1-24-2018 Had these for a bit over a year now. It still works great. In the Winter, it lasts till about 11. In the Summer, it stays on all night long. I have shining on our main entranceway, which has a little roof overhang on it. It lights the area well, with more of a soft light.

Purchased five months ago and worked great for a couple of months. Initially got probably five hours of light out of the unit but now only about two hours of light after dusk. I bought one unit to sort of test it out trying to decide whether to buy a number of them to use around the property. I have relocated to a number of spots to try to maximize the exposure to the sun. We are getting into the winter months... the days are a bit shorter, and to be specific the unit gets five hours of full sun and partial sun the rest of the day... some of the winter days are gray. I'm not giving up, I love the idea of using this type of product and I'm going to keep experimenting with this one. I think I'm being realistic but I want to get about 4 to 5 hours of light after dark.

I got this solar light for a very specific purpose: to illuminate a nativity display in my yard at Christmas time. It is easy to set up. When allowed to sit in bright sunshine for a full day, all I can say is it was still on when I went to bed. But late December in Maryland means shortened daylight hours and many cloudy days. Many times, when I got home from work, the light was not on. I'm not sure how long it came on for, if at all. I moved my nativity display to an area beneath a tree filled with Christmas lights so that it could be seen even when the solar light was off.So if you live in the sunny south where it doesn't get dark at 4:00 in the afternoon and you don't get much rain or snow, this might work for you. It probably does okay in the summer. I don't know, I have put it away til next Christmas.

I purchased this light to illuminate a 40 foot section of walkway. Boy, does it ever light it and then some. The solar panel gets about 5 hours of direct sunlight each day which is enough to power the light for at least 10 hours. The ability to separate the light from the solar panel is a great feature. The long extension cable allows me to position the solar panel in direct sunlight and the light in deep shade where I need it. Customer service has been great. About six weeks after I received the light a rabbit chewed through the extension cable. I contacted MicroSolar and asked if I could return the cable for repair. No need, I was told. Instead they sent me a whole new unit.

Love the Solar Floodlights. Just ordered another, and later will order one more for a backyard dark corner. These are truly bright and light up an area very well. Holds charge longer than most I have used, even on half sunny days. I've purchased and tried out many solar lights over the years. This is a winner.

I bought 5 sets two years ago. Today I decided to leave feedback on how awesome they are since they are still going strong. They are made in China but built like it was from the good ol’ USA. If you are debating on quality, don’t. Pull the trigger and buy them.

Purchased this solar light to light up the American flag attached to my house. The flag is about 6' from the ground and the light is at ground level. This light is bright enough to get the job done and I have received my compliments on it already.

Excellent flight,works great,we use it to light up our deck steps at our rv,only thing amounting screws are junk! I would go buy 4 good ones also the Plastic stake 's are very cheap ,I mounted mine so I didn't need them anyways
