Are you sick and tired of only being able to use the Cricut brand of pens with your Cricut Cutting Machine? If so you need the Multi Pen Adpater. With this Pen Adapter you can use most any pen, marker, sharpie or whatever you choose up to a 1/2' in diameter. There are no height restrictions with the pens or markers you use. Simply install the Pen Adapter as instructed and you will be able to increase your color selection. We have successfully used crayola (Pictured in the Images) and sharpie ultra fine and highlighter markers in the Multi Pen Adapter. There are so many different brands and types of pens and markers, it is not known what all markers and pens that will fit in the Multi Pen Adapter. But our rule of thumb is 1/2" or smaller and it will fit. I get a lot of question's as to weather sharpie markers will fit the multi pen adapter and I say yes they will fit, but the standard size sharpie marker needs a small amount of sanding and fitment to fit properly in the Multi Pen Adapter. Works perfectly on Cricut Air, exactly what I needed.
This does fit the Cricut Air (what I have). They enclosed very clear instructions on how to install it. You need to remove the factory part, which frankly I was a bit worried about (what if I break it?). But if you follow the instructions (squeeze the bottom, pull from the top) it will come right out. I did have to put my machine on its side to squeeze and pull at the same time but I was able to do it on my own.As far as functioning - this is exactly what I was looking for. The design is so simple and easy to use it surprises me that Cricut themselves did not offer it (well, not really as they would much rather keep selling you only their markers to fit).I was working on a very important project to me (my family tree) and I needed a silver marker that had a much finer tip than offered by Cricut. I even tried scoring my paper and then hand writing over with my fine silver Sharpie, but my hand was too shaky and it just did not look right. This solved that problem. The only snag I came across was if you want to switch colors on the same page (because the instructions tell you to insert the marker with the machine off and then explains how to get it at the correct height). Once the machine is in process, you cannot do it the same way the instructions tell you. So I just drew a line on my markers indicating where they are to sit in the holder, so now I can switch them out as needed.Well worth the price to open up me using almost any of the markers I currently own.

Measure 1.25" from pen tip and you should be good
I don't have anything else to say that hasnt been said but i do have super simple "calibration" instructions, which frankly i think they should include.Anywho,You simply need get one pen adjusted to the right setting for your machine, i imagine these machines settings couod Be off a mm or two.So measuring from the writing tip of your pen to the end of the barrell opposite the screw (the end that goes into the cricut) will always be the same for each pen you use. My machine requires it to be 1.25" / 3.2cm / 32mm , so if you're having troubles start here and adjust a few mm in either direction as needed. You can see in my photos this does not sit as deep into the slot as the cricut adapter doees but it sits where the line off on the cricut pen adapter tapers off.I hope this helps amd didnt cause more confusion.Cheers, & happy creating yall!!

highly recommend!
works great! this takes a minute to get used to -especially because figuring out how far to put all the different types of pens/markers is a serious process trial and error (well, at least for me, being fairly new to the cricut world).i have successfully used with:fine point sharpiessharpie pensmicron pensstaedtler pens (really well)tombow markers- fine point endpapermate flair felt tip pens (awesome)precise v5 pens (AWESOME)that being said, i highly recommend that you make some sort of indicator on your pens/markers once you know how deeply to place them. for me, i just used some washi tape and wrapped it around the pen so now whichever pen i grab, no more guessing, i just use the tape to indicate the depth just like the arrow on the cricut pens.i love that this saves so much money, because you don't have to use cricut pens and it really allows you to try so many different types of inks and colors!

Love the concept, but isn't the best solution
I loved the idea of using a ton of markers I already have with my Air 2 machine. However, this isn't the ultimate solution. I am making a project which requires scoring then drawing. It is near impossible to change the housing in the middle of a project. To score I need the factory piece in then I have to remove that to install the adapter. I was able to do that without much hassle, but to then install the marker at the correct was challenging, almost impossible to do without damaging the project in process. And because it is simply a marker held in place with a screw, it is not as precise as needs to be, and worse, that puts the marker a little skewed so the writing isn't exactly in the precise place. If I was doing only writing, I could see the benefit, but for my purposes, it was a waste on money.

Not a great solution
The instructions are somewhat skewed: If you follow them line by line, you will get the piece inserted, but you will have to readjust the position of the pen AFTER you turn the machine on and it raises into position, otherwise, the pen will never touch your paper when you attempt to write. The single screw also shifts the pen slightly off-center so you have to measure and accommodate for this in your design or the pen/marker will not write where you expect. This is more crucial if you have a "print and cut" item because it will not be centered.

Does NOT fit Sharpie Fine Point Permanent Markers
This would be a great tool, which I bought to design wedding items with my Cricut Explore Air 2. Reading the description, this product is advertised to work with Sharpie Fine Permanent Markers - a common brand of marker. However, this DOES NOT fit Sharpie Fine Markers... They are too wide. My fiancé had to sand paper the inside of this adaptor so it would accept a larger marker...

Works as advertised.
This product did exactly what it advertised. It allowed me to use an inexpensive pen with my Cricut Explore Air 2. If you demand exact pan centering (Yes, your drawing will be off by the millimeter or two that your pen is off-center in the holder) then adding a little shim opposite the screw may be necessary..... but we are crafters and makers, so we should be able to figure that out (a plastic coffee stirrer worked perfectly with my Sharpie). I also found that putting the pen in with the holder all the way down (power off) and then raising the holder around a millimeter before lowering the pen again to the paper gave me the best contact. There may be a little bit of trial and error for you, but putting - sharpie in so that the “a” in sharpie just shows was perfect.
