if you have intense emotions, read this!
I tore through this in one reading. As an emotionally intense person I have always felt like a freak. This book explains why some of us feel this way, why other people sometimes respond to us negatively, and how to mobilize intense emotions to enrich your life. (I also like the affirmations about not worrying about how other people perceive intense emotions.)Well-written and organized. Five stars.

Content of Book is Excellent! Paper Quality of pages is poor.
This is a fantastic book! One of my all time favorites. I highly recommend the content to anyone who feels sensitive or intense. It validates your gifts in an amazing way, and puts your whole life into the words you never had, but always wanted. I have both kindle version and paperback. The kindle is fine. The paperback has poor quality paper on the pages. It's like newsprint, only worse. A fine and wonderful book such as this deserves much nicer paper for the printed copy. Paper should be brighter white, thicker, and larger font.

References are slim
Good read but what I don’t understand is how she didn’t cite Internal Family Systems or any parts work therapy authors as well as no EMDR references when there is an obvious amount of overlap in Lo’s writing.

Life saver
This book is a life saver for me. It answers so many questions like why, despite being diagnosed with slight depressed, ADHD, asperger, and wondering if I'm bi-polar or BPD, somehow I feel the descriptions of these clinical illness don't really say all about what I'm experiencing internally; why some people/places just don't feel right to me (the answer is understimulation); why I feel my own mother is terrified by me, and why I constantly feel like a patient who needs to spend much of my daily energy just coping. It rescued me from the self-blaming of being "too much", and provides actionable advices with compassion and passionate encouragement to a point that it's almost losing its objectiveness as treatises. I've read two books that were life changing to me. One was The Meaning of Life by Bradley Trevor Greive when I was 9, the other one is this one, at age 33. Thank you Imi, for sending out this letter that actually changes lives.

Outstanding. One of a kind.
This book is sheer brilliant. An excellent work of Imi Lo. To whom it may concern it can be a pure life saver. She accomplished to write a book that sums up and draw on nearly all concepts relevant to the subject. Packed with real-life, road-tested, non-bs exercises, tools and hints that can make a all the difference. Grateful, unconditional 5 stars.
