Great Remote Shutter with Far Range
I bought the Pulse Camera Remote through the Kickstarter and was super excited to get it! My husband and I go traveling all the time and always struggle with getting photos of both of us, so we used Pulse for our Yosemite trip to really get the photos we wanted (we use a Canon 6D). The remote shutter is one of the best I've seen, with a pretty far Bluetooth range (we had our camera up a cliffside on a tripod, and climbed down to get the shot). We also used the long exposure setting to take night sky photos on bulb setting, allowing us to capture more light than we typically would with just the maximum exposure on the camera. It helped having the app open so we could start and stop the shutter for as long or short as we wanted. The only downsides are that it does tend to have some trouble connecting to the camera and the thumbnails can be slow to load. We did have to turn off/on the Pulse remote/camera periodically when it would disconnect, and sometimes ended up turning off the thumbnails to save time. But all in all, a great product!See more photos here: [...]

ZERO stars - waste of time and money
I'm bought this for use with a Canon 5D Mark III. The unit frequently disconnects from bluetooth, and the iPhone app is clunky at best. Even when the device is connected to the camera, the app says that it can't find the camera. What the heck? I emailed tech support, and never got a response. If you value quality and good customer service, look elsewhere. If I had tested this right out of the box, I would have returned it. Unfortunately I waited too long.

I order a new device, and received a used item. The item not only appeared used, but it was confirmed once I tried to connect to the app. The pulse device was already named by the previous owner "Jim". The device also didn't connect via Bluetooth, that may be the reason why the previous owner returned the product.

Misrepresented product and may not be new.
Very disappointed. Video and long exposures do not work on my Nikon D90 even though the product states it is compatible with the D90. Product misrepresents comparability! Also, not sure this is a new unit. Came in a white box, unsealed and product had a greasy finger print on it when I opened the box.

Three Stars
Nice when it works but is cranky. Support is weak.

Fantastic!
This is a great improvement over the TriggerTrap I previously used. No cord attached to the camera and my phone means my long exposures don't suffer from any vibration at all from any pull between the two. The controller app is easy to pair and overall is exactly what I was expecting. Fits in my camera backpack well with all my other gear.

Waste of time and money
I was really looking forward to this App after I heard so many good things about it. I just bought one for my Canon 5D Mark III and already have a multitude of issues when I plug the supplied cord to my camera: 1) App says my Pulse is not connected OR 2) App says my camera is still not connected OR 3) App says both my Pulse and Camera are connected but the button that's supposed to turn blue on the App stays white and there is no communication between the App and the camera at all. I have reinstalled the Pulse App trying to work out the bugs, but this thing seems to be infested, and frankly I'm pretty much bummed out wasting so many hours with this clunker. I'd give this a negative star (black hole big time) if it was possible.

Had problems initially
Had a very hard time getting this to work and connect to my iPhone. Unfortunately when I purchased it was over Christmas holiday and Alpine labs was shut down so was unable to reach any support. Not sure what I did but eventually got it to connect and work. Seems to work pretty well once I got it connected. Now experimenting with it and getting familar with all the features and capability. Given the difficulty in connecting and lack of support, I am only rating it 3 stars
