Not cheap, but worth it! This cart will change everything you knew about shopping experience.
I read and watched the reviews and immediately wanted to have it for shopping at the supermarket. Yes, it's not cheap like other brands, but seems like for a reason - it's made in Germany, it's truly lightweight, and it seems and feels to be built to last. I didn't see anyone talking about its wheels material, so just know that their outer rings are not plastic but made of hard rubber. They might get dents here and there, even from where they snap for storage as someone already posted here, but I wouldn't worry about it. I do my shopping in the supermarket about once or twice a week, and personally got tired of needing to wait in line for a cart on a heavy evening where all of them are taken, and to return it to the pick up area when I'm done loading my groceries in the trunk of my car. Not to mention of carrying all the bags from my car up to my home. So I was looking for a nice grocery shopping cart, but didn't want the traditional 2-wheel ones that you have to stack everything in it on top of each other. And I also didn't want it to take much space in my trunk when I'm done using it. When I saw this cart, I fell in love with how that it and its crates fold down to take such less space, and said that this may be the thing I'm looking for. When it arrived, I saw the large Amazon box at my doorstep, and was almost worried to push it inside my home only to find out that it weights a lot. Gladly, I was surprised by how light it was considering the outer box size. I unboxed the Amazon box and found inside the item's box, which was about the same size of the outer one. I unboxed it, and without even looking at the instructions attached the wheels, let the collapsed box to fall into itself to the form of a box, pushed the button on the handle and raised the cart to its max position, and secured the box that came with it on it with the built-in flexible straps. It was quite a breeze and didn't require any sophisticated procedures. This was one of the products that I immediately knew that I'm going to throw its outer package to recycle without even blinking, as I don't see how it wouldn't serve me well. I cut the boxes into pieces to make it easier to take them to the recycle bin and loaded them into the cart. Taking it down the elevator felt like luxury. And pushing it on the common brick paver street was also very convenient, and much, but MUCH pleasant than pushing the traditional heavy metal supermarket cart with the "disloyal" wheels, with all the noise and vibration that can raise up the dead. ;) When I was done, I collapsed it and put it in the trunk of my car, ready for shopping. And I don't even detach the wheels - I just put it upside down so it doesn't move, and have plenty of room in my trunk for other things. I ordered a second box to go in the lower compartment which should arrive any day now. You don't have to as you can just put things at the lower shelf without any box, such as heavy bottles or laundry detergents, but I personally prefer a box that sits tight and secured and surround everything from all 4 edges. Bottom line, I'm very pleased with this purchase and honestly highly recommend it to anyone - this cart will change everything you knew about shopping experience. You can thank me later. :)

Petite? What a Game Changer!!
I am petite, VERY petite, and not terribly young. I've had it with supermarket carts that are anywhere from large and heavy to huge and heavy. I can barely see over a Costco (warehouse store) cart. I always dreamed of having a sturdy, reasonably lightweight, functional and foldable cart to take with me grocery and warehouse shopping. My dream became a reality! I saw the CLAX cart as a pop-up ad on social media and immediately knew it was for me. I went to my Amazon app to look it up, and fell in love with the red trimmed one. I ordered it on a Tuesday, and received it Thursday at 12:30 pm. I went shopping with it at 1 pm. I was the superstar of the supermarket! I heard everything from, "Where did you get that?" to "That is so cute!" to people commenting to others they were with, "Wow...that's so cool!" One person even said, "The stores allow you to take that in?" Over all, many heads turned! I tried to get through Costco quickly the following day, but had to stop and answer questions about the cart for half the time I was there. Everyone wanted one. For all of the information I provided, I should get a cut of the sales! Lol. This cart is sturdy, turns and spins on a dime, holds a lot, is relatively lightweight and easily lifted to put in the car, folds up quickly and easily, and the crates open and collapse easily. I did purchase the second foldable crate for the bottom and happy that I did. So far, I LOVE it. And let's face it...I enjoy the attention and conversations it brings! I do hope it lasts without breaking for more than the five months that one purchaser reported. If it doesn't, hopefully the company will stand behind this product. One negative....CLAX Company....Relative to unpacking...PLEASE put the instruction book on TOP of the unit and not closed up IN the collapsed crate. I couldn't figure out how to open/unlock the collapsed crate, so I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to open up the crate in order to access the instruction book! I don't ever want to do any kind of shopping again without this cart! As an aside, in my pictures the bottom of the cart looks like it tilts down. It is just the picture angle. The bottom is perfectly straight and level!

Worth every Penny.
This is a very durable cart that can be used for so many purposes. The ability to use the cart with or without the folding crates makes it so versatile and convenient. It folds easily and is compact when folded. I purchased the green cart and like it very much. The wheels move easily with little effort. It is very easy to open or close. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Pricey cart, but worth it if you are the designated shopper!
I've had this cart for a few weeks now, so I believe I've spent enough time using it to give an honest review. First off, yes, this is a pricey cart, and yes there are other brands out there with similar features for a lot less than the Clax, but this is the original folding shopping cart, and it just works! Other carts are heavier, don't fold down as flat and aren't as stylish (obviously this is my personal opinion, but I think others would agree considering the colors offered by competitors!). I store the Clax in a late model Honda Accord and have no problem fitting other items in the trunk alongside the Clax. It's not too heavy and can easily be lifted out and set up by those with limited strength. The wheels are whisper quiet - so quiet you may even startle other shoppers when you approach. Turning is effortless and maneuvering in tight aisles is no problem for the Clax. When you're all finished shopping, just lift the basket into your trunk and fold up the cart, easy peazy. I do wish it came with another basket given the price, but buying another isn't terribly expensive and you'll be glad you have another on hand for larger grocery trips. The only real con I can think of is that you'll be constantly telling people where you got the Clax, as it is a conversation piece and everyone seems to be interested in it! If you find yourself making trips to the grocery store a lot, and you're tired of making due with reusable totes with handles that dig into your hands, this is the shopping accessory for you! You can even use your reusable bags on the lower shelves if you need more bolstered storage. Overall, I'm really glad I spent the money on this cart. Cruising around the store with the Clax is comfortable, and I tend to do more thorough shopping with it, since I'm no longer worried about how much I can carry. Highly recommended!

WOW and UPDATE
This the most perfect little buggy for grocery shopping. I whiz around the market with such easeโ- the wheels are super smoothโ- the cart is so lightโ- perfect compact sizeโ- other shoppers are banging around with the huge market baskets and I weave in and out of the crowd with my little Clax. Itโs Amazing. I donโt have to fight with the metal carts nor do I have to worry about touching the public carts nor do I have to use those wipes to clean the germs off. All that extra hassle is eliminated with this Clax buggy. Itโs SO easy to unfold out of the back of my Jeep. Just the touch of that one button and it opens right up. The crate that it comes with is also super easy to open and fold. I run around the market collecting my items and then roll right up to the cashier where they ask me if I need any bags and I say โNOPE โ- just put everything right back into the crate!โ I then roll right on out of there and straight to my car where I can either unload the groceries into my cold bags or I can just leave the items in the crate, set the crate into the back of my Jeep and then click the one button on the buggy and it collapses flat with ease. It fits so perfectly into the back. Itโs so much easier to use than a stroller. I drive home and unloading the groceries is easyโ- I can either carry the crate full of the groceries straight into my home and unload into the kitchen. Or if itโs too heavy, I can just use the Clax buggy to wheel the crate i to the house unload and then take the Clax back to the car, leaving it ready for the next shopping trip. BTW, every where I go with the Clax someone stops me and commentsโ- telling me itโs so cool, and asking where I got it and how much did it cost. I think the price is WELL worth it. This has completely changed my shopping experience to that of enjoyment and ease. I get to do my own thing without the fight and hassle of using the public carts. And also, I donโt have to return the cart after unloading into my car. With my Clax I have my own little buggy and I zip in and out and go home. Itโs really cute. I got the one with the green accent. Just because of green for groceries. Get this. It will improve your life. UPDATE JULY 2025: Itโs been over a year and this buggy continues to be the best purchase and value. I get compliments on it every time I go to the market. I even take it with me to the mall. I take it everywhere to just place my purse in and my water bottle or drink whatever. Itโs so convenient and easy. My nine year old now unloads it from the hatchback and unfolds it himself for me. When Iโm out and pushing the Clax around, people smile at me and look at it, they say things like โSmart!โ and โThatโs Genius!โ and โWow, where did you get that?โ and โThatโs so convenient!โ I get those comments 99% of the time when I go out with it. Itโs a really good compact size but holds plenty. It even helps me to not spend too much at Target because it canโt hold as much at the regular shopping carts so instead of spending upwards of $300 while shopping, my average spending is $150, just on account of the fact that it fills up more quickly. But again, it holds the perfect amount and is capable of holding everything I have needed it to. I have yet to see someone else with one of these while Iโm outโ- Iโm surprised I have not. I have seriously not seen one other person with one. Although, one time, a cashier person at Trader Joeโs did say they had seen one before. But I would love to see someone else shooing with one while I have mine out. Donโt be afraid of the priceโฆ itโs SO worth every penny.

Easy up, Easy down! Steers like a champ! Might be bulky for some to lift.
I am correcting this review from four stars up to five stars. I have used it several times now, and finally figured out that it has two handle settings! I didnโt feel like it leaned back far enough to keep me from kicking the wheels while I walked, so I was walking beside the cart most of the time instead of behind it. It was still a wonderful cart worth having, but slightly annoying in crowded situations. I finally figured out that when the cart is done unfolding, it is on its tall, upright setting. You push the button again and pull back on the handle a little, and it adjusts to its โshopping cartโ position that you see in all the pictures. No more kicking the wheels while walking behind it. Now I am a very, very, happy shopper. I bought this cart because I am new at Costco, and their carts are way too high for my short frame. I will also be using it for an elderly woman I take grocery shopping because we need to get her groceries from the the car and up her driveway hill in just one trip. Lastly, I will be toting music books to and from the car into nursing homes for our choir outings. Two other "utility" carts have failed to be able to handle the terrain. This one looks like it might do! So, I just got my new Clax Shopping cart. Easy assembly right out of the box. Just attach the wheels! Little picture card shows instructions on exactly how to do everything for everyday use. It took me longer to figure out the card than it did to assemble the thingโabout 5 or 6 minutes total! I saw some reviews about taking the wheels on and off for every use. I do not plan to ever do that. It sits perfectly upright in a small amount of space if you just leave the wheels on. I plan to leave mine in the trunk most of the time. Then it will be there for a quick stop any time something comes up. It also fits easily between the seats if the trunk is full, but the maneuvering is a little tricky the first couple of times. So, I took it out for a test run, and here is what I found so far. PROS: 1. Easy Assembly. Open and up in less than five minutes out of the delivery box! 2. Easy open: Easy Close. Ten to fifteen seconds at the most! It only takes that long because lining up the basket with the base of the cart takes longer than all the rest! The mechanism seems to do all the work for you with very little effort. I do agree with another review that the button might be too hard for arthritis people, but I believe that it needs to be enough pressure that it cannot be done accidentally. I wouldn't have even noticed if it had not been mentioned. Also, the weight of the cart might also be too much for arthritis folks, too. It is only 21lbs, but the shape makes it a little awkward to lift up. It has a very sturdy metal frame. This makes me believe that it will last me for years to come. HINT/TIP: It is easier to work with the tie-downs if you pull by the round part underneath the support instead of pulling from the top. You really don't see these from the top. At first, you have to place your thumbs on the top of the tie-down and reach underneath with your fingers until you get to the rounded edge and pull out and up. I will be adding a video later, when my son can help me with the camera. 3. Easy to steer! Wow! This thing turns on a dime and weaves in and out of "traffic" like the pro it is! It didn't "bounce" over the speed bumps in the parking lot--just glided right over. I admit that I haven't filled it up with its maximum weight capacity yet, but I have gotten it quite full. So far it is amazing to steer! 4. Seems very sturdy! Love the larger wheels that look and feel like they will last a long time. The solid frame is heavy enough to be strong and durable. 5. The braking mechanism is WONDERFUL! Wide, easy "step-on" brake holds cart very firmly while unloading, even on slightly graded parking lots. Then just lift up with your foot from underneath the brake to release. Love, love, love this brake! CONS: 1. It seems impossible to get a second basket for the bottom! I waited four months for the extra basket option to come in before ordering the cart without it. The company has pushed that date at least three times that I can see, and they still are not available! I have purchased a fairly large grey bin for the bottom, but it doesnโt fit neatly like the original does on topโvery frustrating! Of course, I realize that this might be more of a Covid supply chain issue than a company issue, but for customers it is hard to tell the difference. My bin sits nicely and does the job, but I am still waiting for a second basket that will collapse nicely like the top one does. SUGGESTIONS: 1. When you get the spare crates in, send a notice to everyone who bought this cart so that we can order them. It would also be nice if you would give us the lower cost that we would have gotten had they been available when we bought the cart. 2. Add a little picture on your instruction card of how to get the cart into the two positions for the handle. Conclusion: All in all, I am very happy with the cart itself. For a little โminiโ cart, it can hold quite a bit. I can get a whole case of Costco toilet paper on the bottom shelf with no trouble! Set the brake first so that it wonโt roll while youโre sliding it on. Just try to get a regular wire cart to hold still like that!

One of the best purchases Iโve ever made
Perfect replacement to using the store carts and all the plastic bags. It folds up flat enough to live in the back of my car. Setup only takes less than a minute in the parking lot. The wheels are smooth and the quick wheel lock comes in handy when Iโm packing it up. Not a week goes by at the grocery store where someone doesnโt comment on how great it looks. Yes, it comes with a steep price, but not going home with 10 plastic bags every week is worth it.

Dream come true
Finally, a high capacity cart that I can carry up and down the stairs without struggling! My order arrived quickly and the box was not only easy to carry inside but had a handy perforated part on the top to easily carry the package up by the actual Clax handle inside. Genius! The assembly/prep stage took mere seconds upon opening up the box. No clutter. No annoying instructions. No tools. It comes with one piece of paper with visual steps for prepping your Clax cart. The cart comes fully assembled save for the wheels, which you can pop right in and then start using the cart immediately afterwards. The weight is so light yet the build is so sturdy that it will be especially useful for a woman living alone. It folds and and opens easily, with just the push of one button. The adjustable handle has 2 positions: upright and reclined. In smaller spaces, the upright position is perfect. This cart is reminiscent of those 2-tiered compact carts seen at grocery stores like Fairway and HomeGoods minus the weight and clunk. Now for the basket- the second basket ships separately and will arrive a few days after the cart. I received the cart and 1 basket, with the other basket shipping from further away. The basket, like the cart/hand truck itself, opens and closes in seconds and doesn't budge until you're ready to collapse it. It arrives already clipped to the cart in its flat storage form. One of the reasons why I took 1 star off of my rating is that there doesn't seem to be any accessory for keeping the basket secured onto the cart while in use, only when the basket is collapsed (it comes with 2 connectors which are held in place by small bungee loops under the top tier of the cart- this secures the folded basket to the platform. These pieces are hot pink like the accented details on the pink Clax model. For a plastic cart, it is very expensive, and that contributes to my 1 retracted star as well. It's plastic but I can't even tell if it's recyclable, so if any part of it breaks, where has my money gone? This is a big investment and you'll need disposable income on hand to afford it. Usage Wow. The ride is incredibly smooth. The smaller front wheels swivel 360* and the back wheels are so quiet. While being pushed, the cart makes no noise at all! It might be the quietest cart I have ever used. The rubber on the wheels is grippy and they have amazing traction. There is an easy to step on wheel locking mechanism that I probably won't need to use very often. Now, to find hot pink bungee cords.... Clax team, are you reading this? UPDATE Random strangers love my Clax! It's quite popular. Grocery shopping is so fun. If I don't feel like digging items out of the bottom basket, I lift the basket out of the cart and unload it onto the conveyor belt easily. You can't do that with any other cart!

Game changer!
This is one of the best purchases in my entire life. Using it every day, going for groceries or just taking staff to car and back, itโs so convenient. Using the baskets separately in car, at home or cart without baskets - anything works perfectly! Definitely worth every penny spent on it. Highly recommend to anyone, who live in apt, and car parked on the lower floor. Its a must!
