Well written book that makes the techniques easy to follow. I like the way it presents each project and the materials needed to achieve the end product. As any woodworking project nothing gets done fast, you need to understand what you are doing in order to get a good result. Patience is a virtue! Good book that will guide your creativity!

I bought this book for my woodworking husband for ideas on cutting boards he can make for gifts. There are lots of ideas to spark creativity like knife storage in a cutting board - brilliant! The pictures are easy to follow with the step by step instructions. I even thought I could make some of these boards!I've been my husband flipping through this a few times so I know that he's using it! I'm only giving 4 stars however because I know that a beginner woodworker would need all the tools like a chop saw, band saw, planer, router and table, sander etc to make a bunch of these. We have all the tools but if you were buying this for a beginner, you might be frustrated that you need to invest in more stuff to be able to make them.One of the nice things in this book is a picture gallery from readers/followers of the author which was a lovely addition for inspiration for some of the techniques.

While not intended to cover every base, I believe this book is excellent for most woodworkers who want to get a head start in making their own cutting boards for gifts, their own use, or making them for sale. The author has done many YouTube videos that encourage woodworkers and really anyone to be creative and most of all have fun. He shows us how a positive attitude and working through problems and mistakes can allow us to be successful. Some of the projects are more involved than others, but even the more basic cutting boards look very nice and are most of all functional. A great value for sure. David's Band Saw Box book along with this cutting board book are a great gift duo.

From reading some of the other reviews I was expecting a bit more both in difficulty and content. The layout is pretty simple and there is maybe 10 boards in total. I could be off a few boards but not by much.I'm a novice woodworker but I do have all the machines (table saw, miter saw, band saw, drill press) and so on. You could make these without the machines but IMO you'de be hard pressed to do so.All-in-all I think it's worth it if you have never done it before but I don't think it's a book you will refer to much later down the road, it would be better suited as a hand-me-down to a new woodworker after you have used it.

There comes a time in the life of a true cutting board maker that the three or four designs he has become comfortable need some new designs to spice up the product line. David's book will definitely provide you with the ideas you will need to make the jump to the next level.

I enjoyed the book. The pictures were great, and I got a lot of good ideas for types of boards that i want to make. David Piccuito is one of my favorite woodworkers on youtube to watch and wanted to support his work, which is why I bought it in the first place. I was hoping that there would be a little bit more detail to the steps, but it's fine. It makes for a great coffee table book that people can browse through too.

Awesome book and love watching his YouTube videos. If you have the basics of woodworking, this book gives you enough info, pictures and directions on how to make all the cutting boards. If you are brand new to woodworking, you can probably figure things out but you do either need more ex tools than you would think or a lot of time and effort to make some of these, especially the end grain cutting boards.

I want to give this book 5 stars so bad. I got through the first few pages, but then the book fell apart, and it is no longer a book... Shipping package in good condition, so either poor quality control, or poor quality in general.

Great for beginners but don’t use this as a to the letter instruction manual, get creative, adapt the ideas and the results are beautiful and rewarding!
