I absolutely love this. Even my wife does now., having thought I was crazy to like it. So much that I had to buy another one after dropping and breaking the first while refitting after decorating.NB: the 3-petal spring clip that sures the moon shade is fierce. It is difficult to hold the petals against spring pressure while up a ladder and supporting the globe with one hand. The shade is quite strong, but brittle, and my first didn't survive being dropped. The solution I figured out for the replacement was to place the shade in a carrier bag, with my wrist through the handle supporting the moon. If I dropped it, it would merely fall into the bag instead of 2m onto the floor. This worked perfectly.The second shade is, I think, slightly better made, a smoother 3d print with less obvious layering. It's fantastic when fitted with an RGB Led Smart bulb since I can adjust brightness and colour for realism, or blue moon, blood moon.The only slight demerit is that I think it's a Southern hemisphere moon, so upside down for UK, but that will be NASA's fault. Don't care really, it makes me smile.

My 11 year old daughter chose this and LOVES it. We had to send the first one back as it arrived damaged in transit. The replacement was sent out v quickly and no hassle. We put a colour changing bulb in it and it’s brilliant. Exactly what my daughter had envisaged. I had worried it would look tacky, but I was proven wrong. The quality when installed looks much better than when I took it out of the box.

Amazing effect in my little boy’s room and we all loved it, but it wasn’t the easiest to install.

Really happy with this. Just be aware of the size - the image photos are not helpful.Replacing the existing ceiling rose with the one supplied in the pack was easy enough. The metal seems acceptable quality. The cable supplied was very long. Our ceilings are 2m60 and I still cut around half the cable. The wire inside the cable seems a bit thinner than the wire from the rose it replaced, so I had to be careful with the wire strippers. It takes an E27 bulb (large screw fitting).Clipping the fitting into the moon was easy enough. The thickness of the 3d print of the moon is good; it feels substantial and unlikely to break easily.I fitted a 10w LED remote colour changing bulb because that's the only E27 I had handy. I think it's equivalent to around a 60w. The bulb has a few power levels, which each bring out interesting aspects of the moon's surface. I was pleased the bulb is not dimmed too badly by the thickness of the moon shade. It obviously reduces light a bit, but not much more than other coloured shades for example.It's lovely to look at, and something you can really get lost in.

this doesn't glow in the dark, so it doesn't really look like the picture with a black background - just doesn't quite work the way we expected

The media could not be loaded. The photos make this look way better than it is. I’m so sorry to tell you this is utter rubbish.i’ve just tried it on a kitchen pendant as i’m not bothering to wire it it will be returned.The bulb is daylight 6000k possibly a warm white would produce the orange hue i have seen in some pictures. However there are no grey moon craters to be seen when the light is off. The mould is so so cheap. an absolute rip off at £70/80. J have checked other websites in detail now i know what i’m looking out for and im sorry again to say, they are all the same cheap mould.

Looks so much like the moon, love all the details and it's not a smooth surface, we can see craters too which is great.Not as hard as expected to install after reading other reviews.Looks great in front of our dark curtains.The room feels special now, we love it.

I got this for my son's room. It is interesting and looks great when turned on. We have a dimmer switch and it looks particularly good when it is quite dim. It seems quite pricey for basically a textured ball, but my son is delighted and my husband was able to install it without too much difficulty.
