Manufacturer provides no information on what the "nano non-stick" material is
The rice cooker cooks rice very well. However I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the "nano non-stick coating" is made of and no one would give me a straight answer. I couldn't reach the manufacturer so I reached out to a retailer who asked the manufacturer directly. I asked, is the surface coated with nano particles of a certain material and if so, what is the material? Or is the surface punctured with nano-sized indentations thus causing the remaining ceramic surface to be non-stick? They just explained what nanotechnology is, which is not what I was asking. When I pushed they eventually said that it is coated with nano particles that are non-stick. I asked again what is the non-stick material of the nano particles and the retailer said they didn't know and weren't able to get a response from the manufacturer. This was all very frustrating. I wanted to get this rice cooker because I didn't want a toxic Teflon rice cooker. If the materials used in this rice cooker are truly safe they should have no problems telling consumers what they are. Honestly I don't even understand how it is legal for them to withhold that information, I just don't have the energy to keep pursuing it. In the meantime I'm still looking for a different rice cooker or a different container that will fit inside the machine.

Great for about three years
I've had two of these and each one lasted about 2-3 years at which point the seem to short themselves out. I'm not sure if the lid mounted control is it's down fall but I assume the steam makes it's way into the inner electronics. I really like everything else about this cooker, the ceramic pot worked really well and the operation is very simple.
