No smell, no mess....I LOVE THIS!
The two teenagers in my house have popcorn at least once a week. After surviving the stench of one too many burned bags of microwave popcorn, I started buying only the kernels and taught them to make popcorn the old-fashioned way: with oil and kernels in a pot with a lid, and sliding the pan back and forth over the eye of the stove. This wasn't perfect either, as they'd occasionally burn some on the bottom and that required steel wool to clean off my stainless pot. Considere an air popper, but who wants another appliance to store? Also looked at the WhirlyPop retro popper, but that still required some finesse as well as hand washing after use. Then I saw the Hausstil popper -- clouds parted and angels sang. Fill with kernels to either line 1 or 2 servings, add oil and salt, and 2.5 minutes in microwave results in fluffy, perfectly salted popcorn with no bad smells, no burnt pans, no chemically formulated "butter" -- just pure popped corn. Yay! Bowl collapses and lid stores inside so it fits handily in the cabinet. Dishwasher safe. NOTHING BUT 5 Star raves for this item.

Love it! Better than the HotPop version.
I also have the HotPop version, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N5NT3NO/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0First off, I love these popcorn poppers. I use coconut oil and just shy of 1/2 cup of popcorn. A touch of ghee if I want it buttery. After it is popped, I top it off with a drizzle of olive oil (real butter makes it mushy) and salt. They are so easy to use, we've started buying popcorn in bulk via Amazon subscribe and save. I think the popcorn is every bit as tasty in these as it is cooked in my whirly pop on the stove, and so much easier. The kids love that they can make it on their own now.Pros and cons in comparison to the HotPop...Con: Just a touch smaller than the HotPop. However, I use the same amount of popcorn in both. This one just ends up with a bit more on the microwave floor.Pro: Sturdier, not as "floppy" as the HotPop. Also, the HotPop gets very hot. This one gets rather warm, but it doesn't burn my fingers like the other one.

It tastes like microwave bag corn which I refuse to eat and ...
This pops the corn but it dries it out. I am not sure what others are referring to as burned but this popcorn disintegrates from being so dry when I remove it. It tastes like microwave bag corn which I dislike and refuse to eat and I did not expect this to taste the same by some promises and reviews on here!I used popcorn oil, followed directions, and after about two minutes the pops slowed down so I stopped because I did not want to burn it. There was 30-40 unpopped kernels left but almost a cup of crumbs smaller than an eraser head of disintegrated popcorn.. My shirt looked a mess from all the small white popcorn particles falling off it while eating it. I pitched the batch about halfway through and went to the stove top popper and used the same oil and popcorn and the result was drastically different. If given the choice 99% of the people would take the stove top corn. I came here looking for what I did wrong and it seems others have been having similar issues.I fail to see any convenience or time saving and the taste is not comparable. Consider me disappointed.

Perfectly popped popcorn from bare kernels without adding oil!
I absolutely love this system for popcorn. I bought one for my office and liked it so much that I bought a second one for home. The silicone they use is high quality and collapses for easy storage. It comes with instructions that recommend mixing oil and seasoning with the kernels of popcorn, but for health reasons and easy cleanup, I prefer my popcorn to be free of all oil and seasoning. No problem. The kernels pop just fine without oil.I use this system almost every day right now. I buy the Orville Redenbacher's popcorn from the local grocery store. I fill to the first line at the bottom of the bowl. My Panasonic microwave oven has a popcorn button. I push the popcorn button and then push the start button. The popcorn pops perfectly in about 2 minutes. If you like popcorn, get this system. It will save you a lot of money over the prepackaged microwave popcorn, and it gives you more control over the popcorn popping process. If you don't use oil, it is a cinch to cleanup. Just rinse with water. If you use oil, it will take a little soap and water to remove the oil residue. I only popped with oil once to see how it works. I prefer not using oil at all. I am attaching photos to show you what is looks like. One photo shows what it looks like before popping the kernels, both inside and outside. Another shows what it looks like after popping, before removing the lid and after removing the lid. Another shows how many kernels are left in the bottom after eating all the popcorn. Not very many! I am so very happy with this popcorn system.[UPDATE] I just added pictures of the instructions provided both on the box and on a pamphlet included inside the box. Still the best popcorn system I have ever bought. I am not associated with this company in any way. I am just a very satisfied customer.
