Perfect for Cuban style salsa dancing on rough or sticky floors
I bought these shoes so that I could salsa dance in sneakers on sticky or rough floors. (Cuban style salsa, in which heels are not common nor expected.) I have the typical Bloch exercise/dance shoes w/ the split heel but those look really bulky and dorky for social dancing. These are much slimmer so they just look like typical sneakers, but they're perfect for being able to spin and turn easily. So far, they've been great. I just wish they had other colors available in tan or grey instead of just black.I'm heading to a 3-day salsa festival this week and will be wearing them quite a bit. I'll post an update if I have any problems with them.

My Shoe Ain't Got No Sole....and now we're Both Coming Unglued!
I ordered these (a size and a half larger as recommended) for Zumba as the Ryka Tenacity that came with great reviews are not working out for the necessary turns and pivots for dancing. My knees needed a break! I was really excited to try these out as I've never worn a dance shoe for my fitness classes. They arrived on a Thursday...Perfect! I had class that same evening and put them in my gym bag as I do not wear my gym shoes on the street. In class I found that I have to be very cautious not to slide on bigger traveling moves as these want to take you for a slippery ride but I made it through and my feet and knees survived intact. That would take some getting used to.Then, I took a couple classes on Saturday; one in the morning and there was a Zumba event that evening so I did that too. (I'm getting my butt in shape and taking hostages if need be). What I realized was that my right shoe was not cooperating and I could feel that the sole had peeled back and was flapping under my foot. Really!?! Within three days the heel is coming unglued?! Are these fastened with chewing gum and hope?! So at this point I am just discouraged as I am not sure that re-gluing the sole will be enough to keep them together for very long. I saved the box and return bag and may have to say my goodbyes.

Shoes may have been two different sizes or sole was adhered wrong.
I was so excited to get these shoes for dance. I tried them on and they were a bit snug, I thought, well they are leather, I will let them form to my foot. The right one was fine. The left one would never stay on my heel. I wore them 4-5 times hoping it would finally form to my foot, but it did not. I'm not sure if the sole was not place correctly on the left heel or the left shoe was smaller. but I could never get the left one to fit properly. I will not be buying shoes online again. I should have returned them, but I don't like to return anything once it has been worn. I felt the need to share this review.

not flat footed like an ordinary sneaker
These are almost the only shoes I wear, inside, outside, errands, shopping, for me they are total comfort. The shoes allow my foot to move in a natural way, not flat footed like an ordinary sneaker. I have three pairs of these and another older bloch shoe that is no longer available but affords me the same comfort.

Great dance sneaker
The shoes are good quality and crafted well. I would have to agree with several of the other reviewer's, order a 1/2 to one size up. I have a narrow foot and normally wear a size 9 to 9 1/2 in standard leather shoes (pumps, sandals, and flats). I usually buy Asics brand running shoes in size 10. After reading the Amazon reviews, I went directory to the Bloch website for fitting recommendations. The fitting guide recommended ordering a 1/2 to one size larger. I ordered size 11 and they fit very well. I have a little room in the toe box and I'm able to wear cotton ankle socks comfortably. I brought these shoes to use for ballet style training, Zumba, and other dance activities.I love these shoes and would definitely purchase another pair.

but will be a good back-up pair
Ordered a whole size larger, and still too small, but also bought them for vigorous dance exercise, and the back is so low, they don't feel secure on my feet. Instead I reordered the Bloch Criss Cross Dance Sneaker, which is much more supportive and feels secure on. Still not as supportive as my old Capezios that are discontinued, but will be a good back-up pair.

So nice, I (finally) bought twice!
Incredibly comfortable--they feel like clouds! This is my second pair after finally wearing out my first pair. I'm a size 6.5 in street shoes, but the size 7 Amalgam fits perfectly for long hours on my feet in the studio. Can't really beat Bloch for overall craftsmanship--they hit the nail on the head across dance styles when it comes to footwear. Quality materials, tailoring, and craftsmanship. A+++

Great Fit & Comfort
True fit -- I wear a US 7 street shoe and order the same in the Bloch sneaker. Very comfortable -- they have saved my feet during dance class and practice. Almost tempted to wear them around the house instead of slippers!
