Construction quality is excellent with my product sample. Welds are strong, powder coating is evenly and completely applied. I can easily see the roof top carrier managing the stated 150 lbs. Convenience is okay, once you have it assembled. Do yourself a favor and ignore the included written instructions, especially concerning the method of attachment to your roof top cross bars. The instructions, both in written word and in the too small illustrations, have it exactly backwards (upside down, really). Study the photos on Amazon. The U bolt and metal bracket are attached pointing down to your roof and the star knobs screw onto the U bolt from underneath. It makes it a pain to put on your roof, but at least you won't have the knobs breaking or puncturing what you are carrying. Niggling annoyances abound in the assembly and written instructions. The instruction sheet does not mention the wind break sheet of metal, its attachment brackets or the screws to be used. The screws provided are too long by half, but at least I got them. The star knobs used to attach the carrier to your cross bars come with loose hex nuts that are supposed to press fit into the knobs, but the hex shaped depressions in the knobs are too big to hold the nuts. I had to glue the nuts in. I take off a star for the lousy assembly instructions, the mismatched hardware provided, and the inconvenient attachment method to your car.

I love it now that it's all set up it's nice but when I received this it was missing about 5 bolts that was supposed to hold the sides together so I had to use my own so it was more annoying and inconvenient than anything. It looks good with the light bars on as well and would recommend this. I hope it was just me that they forgot those bolts.

Price is right, strong construction, only complaint, the design of the attachment feature to the crossbar, ergonomically unfriendly. Great product though.
