Raw Apothecary All-Natural Cocoa Butter (16 ounces)

First, I would like to say that this stuff is amazing. The whipped form makes it so easy to use, it absorbs so quickly and it leaves my skin so soft. It's a very good product. I don't mean to complain with what I'm about to say, I'm just particular about scents so I want to be descriptive for the benefit of others like me. The only problem I found with it, and the only reason why I rated it 4 stars, is that it has a very strong chocolate smell and I don't like smelling like food scents like cupcakes or vanilla or brown sugar. Obviously, it's raw cocoa butter and the smell is natural, but in case you're a noob like me and are used to the diluted smell in lotions and stuff, I'm just letting you know it's very strong. The first time I put it on, my room and I smelled like chocolate cake for hours, and it doesn't mix well with many other scents like my deodorant or the ylang ylang oil I put in my hair. The next few times I tried it I put on much less and so it definitely wasn't as pungent, but it was still there all day. I'm really sad I don't like the smell, because my skin feels amazing! I'll use the shea instead.

so this is actually what happen, the jars had to be sent two in one box and one in another even though I ordered a bundle form the site, which is fine. as far as the usage, I am very much allergic to Coconut and Coconut derivative (oil, water, milk, Caprylyl Glycol-Caprylic Acid-Caprylic Glycol.-Ceteareth-20-Cetearyl Alcohol just to name a few) base products: makeups, All variations of soaps-hand, shampoos and conditioners, etc. there for I diy what ever I can and this is my MANGO body butter mixture. comes in Great for the change in weather (winter is coming, LOL) and just keeping my skin healthy, even and smooth- BAE APPROVED, lol. I have been making my own for awhile and have used several base ingredients but this has been the most well package and textured butters I've had to date. it will take me a year or so (if f&f don't hit me up for Body Butter for themselves this winter) before I have to reorder, but I definitely plan too.

It's absolutely wonderful on my skin and I can see and feel the results after a few days. However, I gave it 4 stars because its no easy task to apply. It's hard as a rock, which means you have to scrape out small pieces with a spoon and rub them between your hands until they melt. If you plan to apply this product to your whole body as I do than patience is a virtue. With that said, now that I'm aware of this and slowly coming to terms with it, I will order this product again. It's worth the hassle.UPDATE! This product is outstanding. My skin and beard feel and look awesome after just two weeks. Plus, I've discovered that if you carve out a decent amount and place it in the microwave for 30 secs that its 1,000x easier and faster to apply. I will definitely buy this again.

I LOVED the smell when I first received it. It was kind of melted as well because it was so hot this summer. I don’t use it much anymore, for one, it’s really REALLY hard. I mean solid hard. Not like shea at all, it’s tough. And he smell overpowers anything you put in it so don’t waste your essential oils trying to blend scents. Unless you cook it and refine it, that smell isn’t going anywhere. And mixing it with other liquid oils will barely help keep it liquified either.

I bought this to use on some recent surgical scars, but I've found myself using it all over the place for dry skin and old stretch marks.It is exactly what it says it is—solid, raw cocoa butter—and as such is very hard at room temperature, melts delightfully at soon temperature, and smells fantastic. I enjoy the scent and feeling of this cocoa butter, which makes me more likely to apply it at regular intervals. I'm tempted to try whipping up some home-made lip balms and so forth as well.Great stuff at a great price. This 1-pound tub will last a long time.

This is exactly what I expected it to be raw organic cocoa butter and its natural form it is not soft so don't expect it to me you will need to put a little bit in a dish and warm it up in the microwave to soften it or do you like I do and I just liquefy it and let it cool down while I take a shower and use the oil nightly, and in the morning in the winter months.I love this product and will continue to use/buy it.

I love Raw Apothecary's Shae butter. My boyfriend and I use it all the time. But this cocoa butter is HARD AS A ROCK. I don't care for having to melt it beforehand. When it is melted, it's great stuff, but I dislike the chore of doing so. I'll be making a whipped body cream out of it or something so it won't go to waste, though.

Great product & excellent customer service. Cocoa butter has a hard textute, so you have to scoop out some & warm in hands to use. I live in the Las Vegas heat so it is an easy task for me. Product has a chocolate smell (cocoa..duh) when you put on, but fades away rather quickly; you don't smell like a Hershey bar all day. I love it for my feet & hands especially because it makes them so soft. Highly recommend this product & will continue to buy.
