With over fifty years experience in fish keeping and water gardening, you can be sure that all products manufactured by Blagdon will not only be elegant, but designed specifically for successful fish keeping and water gardening. We know that duckweed is an unsightly and potentially dangerous problematic weed and the small circular leaved plants rapidly divide to cover the entire surface area of the pond. This cuts out the light, killing any submerged aquatic plants and also disguises where water starts and ends, being potentially dangerous to wildlife, pets and children.Blagdon's Duckweed Buster prevents the duckweed from taking up the nutrients it needs to grow, causing it to die back. Like all vegetative treatments, Blagdon recommend that as much duckweed as possible is removed manually prior to treatment, as this will avoid having a pond full of dead rotting duckweed.

Does not work
I really did follow the instructions, but this did not work in my pond. It was hard for me to remove all the duckweed from my pond, as it hides amongst the iris roots and lilies, but I certainly did my best before each treatment. I followed the instructions and dosed the pond each week until the bottle ran out, but the duckweed was coming back as fast as I could catch it and treat it. You wonder how long you should be wasting your money for. The blanket weed treatment I used earlier in the year did work (it dissolved it), although it is back now and needs another bottle thrown at it, but this had no effect whatsoever on the duckweed!

It does work, it just takes time!
I followed the instructions to the letter, but can't remove all the duckweed as it's stuck among the irises. After three applications, nothing seemed to be happening, except a load of blanket weed grew. So I had to buy some blanket weed treatment, which worked really well. Now the duckweed is dispersed over the pond with lots of space between, so I can' fish it out any more. It has cost me a fortune. However 4 months down the line, in August, the duckweed has not grown back and is virtually gone. I have got two more bottles of treatment to use if it starts to grow again.

Limited effect
After applying the initial dose the duckweed did seem to be less. I applied the second dose but it has come back with a vengeance. In the end it did not help removing duckweed from the pond permanently.

Just doesn't work.
Just doesn't work. Duckweed thriving and completely covering the pond two months after manually removing most of it and applying the so called 'buster' as per instructions.
