Jupiter Workshops 34018 Wooden Art Easel Toy

I got this on an Amazon lightning deal at a fairly good price. I liked the idea of my kids being able to have an easel that could be used for not just chalk, but painting and dry erase. This seemed like a good option.Pro's:- Has 3 bins to put items in that are made of a tough fabric- A good height for basically 3+ years or so- Fun colorsCon's:- The eraser is awful- I would rather have clips for single sheets of paper rather than a roll, cause there isn't an easy way to attach the roll to the bottom for them to draw on,and no easy way to cut the roll (also can't really buy clips because of how it is constructed at the top)- I had two of these sent to me, but both were shipped (box was terribly ripped up both times it arrived) with many broken/scratched pieces. The first one had a 4 inch by 3 inch gash on the chalkboard side and had a piece of load bearing wood that was also sliced (about 2 inches on the end of the piece of wood. And, the second shipment also had broken pieces, broken in a similar way to another post on this. It is possible that I just got unlucky twice with it, but with the care that I saw given to the packaging, it is no wonder that both shipments to me were broken. After the second time, I decided to just return it since I can't seem to get one that isn't broken.

When I received this item it was for Christmas. Needless to say, I did not open it until today (12/28/16) to assemble it for my boys. Product was easy to assemble needing only a Phillips screwdriver. Much to my chagrin, it was missing the dowel to hang the roll of paper on. After reading some other comments and reviews of the same product, it would seem it would be easier to go by a wood dowel than to fight with the manufacturer over this one piece.

Product was broken is several places & had missing parts. After contacting manufacturer who claimed the problem had to have been with shipping, I returned for a full refund.

Product was apparently used. Was missing several parts.

We have received the item with the broken package. There's even a hole on the box. After we assembled the easel, we found several chips and cracks on each corner of the drawing board. The paper scroll is loose since the cracks is too big to hold the scroll steady. My daughter loves this easel but we didn't pay for this. Very sad.

I like the adjustments. The assembly instructions could have been more detailed. My 4 year old boy loves it.

I bought this as a gift for my niece for her birthday. Art is a big part of my life and some of my happiest memories as a child had an easel right in front of me, and I want to share that joy with her. The sentiment of an easel is enough to warrant a five star review from me. This was not able to be gift wrapped, which is absolutely fine, however, I still did click the option to have a gift note sent with it and expected it to be packaged in a box. This did not happen and the shipping label was just stuck to the outside of the easel's own box. It's not really that ginormous of a deal because I bought the contents, not the box, But my niece lives clear across the country and I wanted the wrapping her parents have to do for me to be as clean as possible. Regardless, I'm very happy with my purchase and I know my niece will be as well.
