May The Force Be With You
For a Star Wars item that is 20+ years old, First Stop Books and Movies described this item perfectly and honestly. It was delivered earlier than expected and in the original box. The appearance is excellent. The sound is clearly audible, and the animation features work very well. I am more than pleased!First Stop Books and Movies - I can't thank you enough! Christmas Day this gift brought tears to my grown son's eyes, as I thought it might. He had one of these when they were first issued, but one of his young sons had broken it. He never, never expected it to be replaced, so this was this year's most special Christmas gifts!

The product was used and it didn't work all the way. Vader would talk and light up with his light saber raise his arm ,but his side swing waist movement was not working.

Horrible! Nephew was heart broken
I got this item for my nephew and when we went to put the batteries in, the batteries from the manufacture were corroded inside and we were unable to get the item to work. Amazon should remove this item from being sold from this seller or be more selective of its sellers.

Seems Fragile to Me...
***********************************I ordered this for my nephew's 3rd birthday. When it arrived, I tested it out and even put in fresh batteries. Something was wrong with the one that I got because the voice was garbled and slurred, and the movement was choppy. It seems to be a fragile bank, but since my nephew loves Darth Vader, I quickly asked for a replacement. Amazon.com is great with exchanges because they handled my situation immediately and shipped out a replacement just in time for my nephew to receive it. Otherwise, Darth Vadar is menacing-looking, the sound is unreal LOUD, and the fact that the light-saber lights up as Darth Vader lifts his arm up and around is so cool. Oh, his cape thing is made of soft rubber so there's some movement to it too. The other reviewer said there's no movement when a coin is dropped in...I think that's a defect in his/her bank cuz mine goes through the whole song and dance when I drop a coin in.

Best present! Many creative uses!
This toy has many uses. I gave this to my nephew for his 3rd birthday. He and his 7 yo sister absolutely loved it. It definitely turned out to be a huge hit at his birthday party. He kept asking his parents for change to put in it to hear the Jedi march so his parents used this as a potty training tool and placed the bank in the bathroom. About a week later, he was potty trained. (Finally.) Later, the bank was used as a deterrent to prevent their 9 mo old from climbing the stairs. For the first couple days, it worked; the baby was definitely scared of Darth. On the third day, the baby started pressing the buttons and dancing to the Jedi march. Now the baby does not attempt to climb the stairs anymore because he is so taken with the music and action of the Darth Vader bank. He just sits at the bottom of the stairs and presses the button over and over and over again. It's almost like an auto-babysitter - we know exactly where he is and what he is doing when we hear the bank. :)

Darth Vader Money Box
It is the coolest money box ever. The words are clear & it is just amazing . Its picture does not do it justice, the figure is larger & has much more detail , it exceeded my expectations !!

Cool toy but way too fragile
Darth Vader is the ultimate villain and the main character in the Star Wars Saga.We have some figs, dolls etc of the Dark Lord, but not that many misc. items that are worth purchasing. This item, apart from being a bank to save up some cash, has soem nifty features. He comes with great and loud sound effects, dialogue and it plays The Imperial March theme. Vader also raises his saber, which lights up and his torso moves while doing it. This results into a very nicely looking sequence that you will love to see every day. That is until you change the batteries. I purchased this item years ago and the first time i changed the batteries it just started acting all weird. To get new batteries in i carefully removed Vader from the packaging, carefully tilted him and changed the batteries and gently put it back into the box.Ever since i did that his saber will either not move at all, will not light up or his arm will stop moving in the midst of the animation sequence. This is a real shame, because it truly is a great item, but what's the use in buying it, if you can't even cahnge the batteries? That's pretty ridiculous.I also have the C-3PO & R2-D2 version and it's the same lousy durability. I changed the batteries and now R2 won't move forward to push the coin in, rotate it's dome or light his eye.It gets even worse as all three of the Episode I banks, also issued by the same company, aren't functioning properly either. They are more durable, but they do not work like they are advertised. The set includes Darth Maul, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn. Connect them all and they should duel, however this never seems to work. I have returned them several times with no success. So what can i advice you to do? Well, stay away from any talking bank that this company makes, because the durability in these items is a disgrace.Save your cash.

Defective - had to Return
I had purchased this bank for my 5 year old grandson. When he opened the box it would not function. The Star Wars bank was NIB but the batteries had been left inside and corroded the wires. Corrosion was almost solid in the battery box. Needless to say our grandson was disappointed. Amazon's return policy is excellent and my full purchase price was refunded.
