Great kit, almost everything you need
Nice kit. I didn't think I'd use the clamps, but I did. I thought I'd need an extra spatula or plastic razor or deck of cards, but I didn't.Things I needed apart from this kit:1. Strong/steady hands2. A hairdryer3. An infrared thermometer with laser sight, to check temp of glass during heating / ensure that it's between 150-160 degrees Fahrenheit.3. Paper towels4. Q-tips5. Isopropyl alcohol6. UV (true uv wavelength) light. I used a little "mag light" style, 9-LEDs, 3 AAA batteries. My notes, which will hopefully save others time:1. Take your time on the glass.. I started top-left, in to almost the middle of the screen, down about 3/4 of the way to the buttons, then back up to the top and did the other side. I didn't know where the ribbon cable came from for the sensor buttons. With glass facing you, it goes down the left side, then straight across to the right. When trying to unglue my buttons from the glass, I sliced my "back" button and had to order a new cable ($12 shipped / Amazon Prime). The glass removal took about 15 minutes. It pays to watch a few youtube videos on removing glass, so you know how to tell if you're "hot enough" and how slowly you should peel it.. I didn't need any special prying tools other than the one provided to remove the old glass, and I was careful not to scratch the LCD during removal.2. I had some 2mm tape handy from an older phone fix, so I temporarily put the glass on with that, and waited for my replacement buttons to ship.3. When I put the LOCA glue on, I forgot to first put the custom adhesive strip around the edges. It was difficult and messy to do it with glue all over the LCD4. They provide enough glue to cover one Note 2, but not much more than that. I didn't quite use all of it, but if I did it again, I probably would.5. Be super slow when laying down the glass, as all the videos tell you.6. I had removed the bezel/housing when I glued my glass on. I used the clamps provided, and didn't damage my circuit board or anything, but I'm a little surprised that I didn't. If I were to do it again, I'd probably leave the housing on, cure it, and take it off later for cleaning.7. The videos I watched told me not to worry about LOCA glue getting all over the place; just clean it off later. I'm not sure I agree with that method. I mean, it needs to cover the glass and LCD, but it's a pain to clean.8. I used the 9-LED UV light to cure it.. I don't know if what I did was overkill or insufficient, but it's been 4 days.. I only have one tiny hairly aberration near the bottom buttons, so I think it was pretty solid. My method was to hit some structural parts with the light right on the glass for 20s (I did this to the 4 corners, and 2 spots about midpoint on the sides. Then I hung the light from a wire and let it shine like a spotlight on my phone for about 3 hours.9. The glue is a mess. After the glue cured, I realized that I had ended up getting it down inside the front-facing camera lens hole and sensor hole, making my camera absolutely blurry, and also making the phone think that I had it pressed against my head every time I made a call.. when Android thinks the phone is pressed against your head, it shuts off the display and touchscreen, so in a call, I couldn't press any number keys, couldn't hang up, etc.. it was either turn off the phone or wait to get disconnected. I removed the housing and cleaned the glue out of those holes, and it worked. The glue also drenched my loudspeaker "rubber cover". The speaker still worked, but the glue on one corner of the cover was loosened, and all my audio then sounded like it was played through a kazoo because the rubber was "flapping" from the vibrations. I opened it up again and removed the rubber completely (we'll see how that goes), and it sounds great for now.10. Cleanup was a pain. I couldn't get the remnant of the glue off the new glass easily at all, and I spent probably 2 hours wiping and polishing and trying different cleaning agents.. Windex ended up working the best for me, but I'm afraid it might have ruined the finish on the glass (ammonia + anti-glare?).. not sure if it was anti-glare coated or not, though.I'd have given it 5 stars, but definitely could have used more alcohol wipes, maybe a q tip and a bottle of alcohol for the front-facing camera cleanup.. and a big fat warning about where the ribbon cable is situated for the front buttons, so I'd have known the safe spots to pry.

UV Glue Didn't Hold
I bought is kit on 7 July 2015 for $19.44 plus $4.99. Now the product is listed for $24.99 with free shipping which is still a good price for the overall kit. The kit comes with 4 good quality clamps (than I can use for other projects), a handy jewelers screw driver, the correct S3 glass and gasket. The kit also comes with an opening/removal tool used to remove the broken glass. It "Slim-Jim" works pretty well, however if you are not careful, the sharp metal edge of the tool will create gouge marks on the raised plastic edges that frame the glass. This can give the phone a rough edge around the glass after installation. However, I recommend using a couple of pieces of packing tape to protect the plastic frame if you are going to use this tool. If you do gouge the edges, good cell phone cover with a raised edges, so you won't see or feel it it anyway. Speaking of installation, SmartKit has a good video for removing the old glass, but they failed to provide an installation of the new glass and gasket, even though they reference it. I saw other video review that also commented or complained about the missing video also. I had to rely on videos from other companys' and repair shops' videos to get me through that portion of the repair just to insure I didn't miss anything. The two tiny alcohol pads used to remove all of the old glue are a joke as they were immediately used up cleaning the LED. I had to rely on soft paper towels and rubbing alcohol to remove the rest of the old glue. I've repaired quite a few cell phone and have over 30 years electronic and aircraft display repairs so I felt that wasn't too difficult of a job. For my phone it, was a good repair and the UV glue gave it a professional look as if it came from the factory. The clamps where great for helping press all the bubbles towards the edges an away from the display and keeping the glass in place during the UV curing process. I would like say this is a great kit, however the UV glue didn't hold up and in less than a week of use, the glass started separating away from the LED and bubbling up around the edges. This part was very disheartening to see as I used quite a bit of UV glue and I let it cure under UV light for more than enough time before assembling the rest of the phone. I am going to give this a 1 star rating for now and see how SmartKit honors its "100% satisfaction guarantee!" I will change the rating based on SmartKit's actions. Unfortunately, I'm going to need to do another repair on this same phone. separation

Adhesive not fully correct and UV-glue is dried out on first delivery
I ordered the package, because I liked the completeness of it. Even though I was a bit annoyed by the supplier not shipping outside US, because I spend a lot of time in Europe too, and a similar complete package could not be found out in Europe. Now I finally found the time to replace my broken screen, and I have my phone all taken apart... Only to find out that the adhesive is not 100% correct (opening for camera is too small) and that the UV-glue is already dried out before I even opened the glue tip.Luckily, Andrew responded quickly to my complaint and quickly shipped a new (correct) adhesive for my Samsung Galaxy S4, as well as a new tube of UV-glue. Apparently they accidently shipped a S3 adhesive the first time. Results are very good, except for the top end of my screen. But that's my own fault, because I should have probably used a bit more glue there or mount the clamps a bit closer to the top of the screen. But the rest of the screen is as clear as it was out of the factory. Really happy with the result and saving a lot of money on replacing the compleet screen.Potential improvements:* add a solution for the front camera. Now UV-glue ran into this hole and pictures taken with front camera are unclear. Maybe they can add a sticker or something to cover the lens part before glueing, or add something to clean the lens cover after glueing.Overall: good product and good customer service.
