Something old; something new; all good.
Good solid "Fourplay" stuff. Liked the familiar pieces, even though I have them on other Fourplay albums. Just wish this album had contained more new compositions, but am not disappointed, 'cause I like almost all of their material that I've heard, so far. Definitely worth downloading if you already know Fourplay. If not, I'd maybe start with "The Best of Fourplay", first, then go from there. I started getting into the group about seven or eight years ago. Never regretted it.

Great Album
This is one of the best contemporary jazz albums on the market. If you are not convinced, get it anyway. It will grow on you. Although Fourplay has gotten better over the years, the quality of the tunes makes this a standout

One favorite song
I bought this cd for one song, between the sheets by Chaka Kahn. It is a soulful rendition by her and the four play group. Phillip bailey was a nice addition. The other songs are nice, but I play my favorite over and over. Unfortunately, it's not available on iTunes or I would add to my phone library.

Five Stars
I lost this recording when I was moving. Its replacement rates high on my tingle meter.

Fourplay, Between the Sheets
I'm probably not the most objective source for a review of Fourplay. I think this group is talented far beyond most of their contemporaries. I enjoy their work in general and this album specifically.

Anyone for Fourplay
I was lucky enough to recently see Fourplay at Ronnie Scotts jazz club in October 2015. A power cut forced the guys into doing an unplugged concert at the start! Thankfully power was resumed and these incredible musicians could be heard in all there glory. This is a superb album. There second one in fact. There first three albums all feature Lee Ritenour and remain my favourite. The playing is exquisite and beautifully recorded.

Squeaky Clean
It's what you'd expect from some of the top fusion jazz players in the world in many ways. Funky, cool, sophisticated and beautifully recorded.I like this sort of music as it sits well with my desire for things being in their place whilst retaining great musicality. If you want raw edges this CD isn't for you though. The slightly provacative name of this ensemble indicates what some of the intentions were in making these records but I have to say that, bearing this in mind, the title track is still truly awful.I didn't realise that this earlier version of the group didn't feature Larry Carlton on guitar but Lee Ritenour. Well they are both fantastic players but it was a surprise as I only knew them from a later offering entitled "Heartfelt".I don't think that this will be a recording that I will treasure as I think that there are many better offerings in this genre but it IS good.

Chaka Khan - Between the sheets
I bought this album initially for the track Between the sheets but was more than surprised of the excellence of its other tracks.
