A lot of unnecessary fake five star reviews, but the Sprout Garden really works, and works well!
I have been sprouting my own stuff for over ten years now (ever since the old Alfalfa sprout recall), and couldn't be happier. The main reason I do this (other than the better taste of course), is so that I can use organic seeds and harvest them after only a few days for maximum freshness and crunch.Since I am a big egg guy, I am also obviously a big sprout guy - they go great together and both have tons of protein + other goodies.Around the year 2000 or 2001, I have had two cases (in rapid succession) of BAD poisoning due to buying store sprouts and decided to grow my own. I have not had a single sprout related illness since then. Obviously in all that time I went trough MANY ways of growing these little nutrition powerhouses and the Sprout Garden is by far one of the best.First of all it's not as messy as a jar or pot, and it already has vent holes cut into it, unlike the terrible Victorio VKP1014 4-Tray Kitchen Seed Sprouter . It's also very stackable, just like the VKP1014, and takes up virtually no room. I also like the fact that water doesn't drip down to the lower levels of this sprouter (when stacked), as this can cause issues. Each of the three units you get is it's own self contained habitat. Finally the drainage in this thing is both good an easy, which is pretty awesome. Simply take the tray, give your sprouts a wash (with cool water), drain and put it back! Make sure to keep the trays covered unless you want overly green sprouts. I like to take the cover off for just the last hour (or so) of the process. This has to be done to activate the enzymes! Do not forget this step.Operating this thing couldn't be any easier. You use the main tray to soak your seeds in lukewarm water for about eight hours, drain it all and agitate them a bit (swish em around). Cover everything up and leave the seeds alone to do their thing. Simply give em another sprinkling two times a day and you will be golden. Make sure ALL THE WATER is drained, and the sprouts get thoroughly washed. This will prevent them from souring, rotting, or even molding! After a few days (to taste, I usually give my sprouts less than four days to "grow"), harvest and munch. That's it!Note: Yes, I don't use cold water as suggested by most seed sellers, as lukewarm gives me a better crop - try it for yourself. Different sprouts prefer to be washed in different water temps, but the general rule of thumb is warm (68°-70°F) water will help them sprout faster. Finally, this kit does come with some Alfalfa seeds, and boy were they good. It seemed like all of them sprouted really well and were ready in a little over four days. I would have harvested them sooner, but my wife likes big Alfalfa's, so we let them have an extra day of growing. So all in all, this is a great kit. The plastic is BPA free and does well in the washing machine. I liked it so much that I purchased another one. Honestly for under $24 bucks, you won't find a better deal anywhere. If it's priced higher, make sure to check out other merchants. It's not hard to find this thing for less than $25 with free shipping.Step by step sprouting guide for those that don't want to read the review:1 - Put your seeds into a bin and soak them with lukewarm water for about eight hours. Make sure to agitate them a bit.2 - Drain the water and rinse them once more with cool water.3 - Put the cover on so its dark and give them a rinse every morning and evening.4 - After up to 4 days (depending on taste), let them sit in the sun for about an hour (to a day - depends how green you want them), give them a final lengthy rinse, and eat up. That's it!

Best manual sprouter
I have been using jars for sprouting for a long long time. Made the racks to hold them, set aside special areas for sprouting and greening, and used a LOT of water to rinse sprouts in them. Not anymore. This Sprout Garden is pretty much hassle free. Matter of fact, you can use a 1 liter pressure pump hand sprayer (which I use)to adequately rinse all three trays filled with sprouts. I never use more than half a liter to rinse all three trays whereas it takes about a liter of water just to rinse one jar of sprouts. You do not need to hold the trays under running water faucet to rinse them. You do not need to use that much water to rinse sprouts. We have to bring water in from an R.O. system since our natural deep well water here is so high in flouride (which stunts plant growth). It is extremely important for us to save drinking water. Save water and buy this sprouter. We love this sprouter and will certainly purchase another three tray set. You need to be careful handling the trays along the top edges around the perforations. It will crack easily but will not hinder the performance. Handle them where there are no perforations and you will do fine. This is a great product and worth the money because it sprouts well, easy to use, saves a lot of space, and saves a lot of water. Best sprouter for the money. BTW, not all tray systems do as well as this one. This particular design, size and color seems to work best.OH, and another thing. When draining the rinse spray from the trays use one of those super absorbent towels like the ShamWow to suck the water right out of the bottom perforations along the edges. Faster than standing there running your fingers along the very small perforations to break the water tension. Saves a lot of time.

Best sprouter out there
i got this sprouter for $14.90 from the amazon prime warehouse deals because the box was a little bit damaged, but the sprouter was in perfect shape and even still had the free seeds and manual! this is my second one and it works fantastic for everything from broccoli to mung beans. make sure to drain the water out in the trays well for best results. i also have a victorio sprouter and i like the handy pantry sprouter much better. this is so easy and such a great sprouter design, it lets you easily grow the most nutrient dense foods on the planet in just a few days. also these trays can last many years and grow hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of sprouts in its lifetime. i recently stepped on a tray accidentally and the tray ventilation part broke a little bit but it still holds ups great and currently has mung beans sprouting in it, so they are durable, high quality sprouters, the people that arent getting good results are probably using bad seed(you must use sprouting grade organic seeds for sprouters like from gotsprouts.com) or some other problem like sprouting in a room thats too hot because i always have really great results from this sprouter, these sprouts are much better than any you could get at a store.

Perfect!
I have tried other stackable sprouters in the past, and the water did not drain well. To add to this problem, the seeds were constantly getting stuck in the round holes. Then I turned to stainless steel seives, whcih worked exceptionally well, but they were a nightmare to clean! The sprouts became stuck in the holes. I have also tried sprouting in glass mason jars, but even with frequently rinsing, there was an odor. Then I watched a Youtube video by "King of the Roost", in which the owner of the farm demonstrated how to sprout seeds using the Handy Pantry Sprouter Tray (3 trays). I'm having absolutely no problem with drainage! The drain holes are straight "slots" vs round "holes", which prevents even the smallest of seeds (such as brocoli) from getting stuck. This is an amazing sprouter, easy to clean, BPA-free, and I highly recommend it.

Absolutely love 😍
Absolutely love these. Best way to sprout. I also got the oxo herb spinner. These sprouter pans have the hole in the middle so works well with the spinner too I use 1 1/2 - 2tbsp of seeds. It's quick easy to drain. Watch some YouTube's they show them well. They stack well so don't use up much room. Can have 3 different crops growing or time them to start 3 days apart to have constant crop. I store in Tupperware fridgmates on center setting in fridge. I wash in dishwasher top rack with no problem

really love it
So easy to use, works well, easy to clean, love that is stacks and I can have a few different crops on the go at any one time. So so much better than the jar method of sprouting. Worth every penny.

I love to make sprouts!
I have bought 2 sets of these and I love them for making sprouts. I just set them in water to rinse so they don't get all jumbled up but grow straight up (alfalfa), but that doesn't knock off the outer shell at the end though.
