Got these for making hats. They are sturdy and no burrs.

Don't bother with other needle brands
I've tried many needle brands: DMC, Anchor, John James, Bohin. I keep coming back to Piecemakers. They are the best needle, period. They are strong with well-made eyes and last much longer than the other ones. They feel sturdy and I've never bent one pulling it through fabric (apparel or cross stitch) like I have with the others. They tarnish more slowly than the others for me, as well.

Really strong, thin, slick needles that glide through fabric. Really pleasant for hand sewing.
