2017 Hala Atcha 9' 6" Stomp Box Retractable Fin

Superb downriver board!

This board is just plain awesome for serious whitewater. I have two. It has a ton of volume so it can handle huge loads. It’s wide for extra stability. It’s extreme rocker profile helps it surf river waves and maneuver to avoid obstacles. It’s retractable fin keeps you on your feet when it hits a rock. It’s super tough too. A friends wife accidentally backed over one with a pickup truck. No problem. Hala knows what they’re doing. You can’t go wrong with this board.

The extra foot in length on this board is a valuable asset for anyone looking for a super durable all arounder board that could comfortably float 2 people and a dog in flat water. If you have the space to store the extra foot of board (in comparison to it’s smaller version the 8’6”) you will be psyched on the 9’6 as one of your main go to boards for any sort of paddling adventure

This board is the gold-star standard for downriver boards. It is nimble, playful, and responsive. The 6 inch deck provides a huge amount of volume underfoot, which is ideal for keeping your balance in choppy water. Carves well, surfs well, holds it together when the waves get big: this board makes the river easier!The "stomp box" is a sweet, retractable fin that is really handy for those surprise (or not-so-surprising) boulders. It's got tons of handles, which makes lugging it down to the river and loading it up onto the car a lot easier. It's super rugged and Hala has stepped it up with a WAY better pump. Comes in a big, wheeled bag that is great for travel and storage. Love the gorgeous graphics too!

We took the Hala 9.6 Atcha on our Colorado River trip. It is very stable and very well-made. It is the best river Sup by far. We had a few other brands before we got this one and they didn’t hold up as well as the Hala boards.
