Do these melt at all? I am not looking for them to melt completely into something like krispy treats, but do they melt in any way?

I have used these for smores and they are great for that! They get slightly melty and brown like regular marshmallows. I have never tried to melt them completely.

Is this truly a vegan product or are they using normal cane sugar which is not vegan?

I'm assuming you're referring to the use of bone char in cane sugar. If that is the case, then I've found a couple of sources that indicate that the sugar is not made using bone char. One is here: http://www.veganstore.com/product/dandies-vegan-marshmallows-GMO-free/vegan-marshmallows-and-other-sweets . You could probably ask the folks at Pangea to verify, they've been very helpful for me in the past. Another reviewer here also states they were made without bone char: http://www.mnn.com/food/healthy-eating/blogs/dandies-marshmallows-are-vegan-and-free-from-artificial-flavors-and-colors .

I don't think they have any soy in them. I think they are free of major allergens. The dandies website is very helpful and will have the complete list of ingredients. I'm sorry I don't have a bag I can look at right now.

great gift for a friend who cant have regular marshmallows, They finally got the cup of hot cocoa they deserved! the marshmallows taste quite good, not exactly like regular marshmallows, theyre a bit more vanilla-y but they have the right texture!

Love these vegan marshmallows

These vegan marshmallows are perfect for a little snack or for baking/making desserts. They're not overpoweringly sweet as well, which i appreciate as i have tried other vegan marshmallows that have too much sugar in them. I really enjoy the texture and taste of these marshmallows, but some of my friends didn't enjoy the texture of the marshmallows when they weren't toasted or in baked goods. The larger Dandies vegan marshmallows have a softer and smoother texture to them, so there is a bit of difference in texture between the sizes.
