Zivix, 6-String Jamstik Smart Guitar, Right Handed (J-BLE-BK-R-CS)

Bought this as an early Father's day gift for the Hubby and he simply LOVED IT !! There are many online resources to use with the JamStik and tutorials to teach you all the tricks you need to learn to maximize your enjoyment of this amazingly cool musical instrument !

Was a disaster. Just did not provide a positive starting place for a beginner.

This is a great practice guitar. The only problem I have is with the 5 frets. I realize you can click on the capo button to reach higher frets, but it's difficult to do it within a song that would require several capo changes. The great thing is the size and the ability to take it on an airplane and a practice using earbuds connected the a smart phone. You're not disturbing your seat neighbors and not only are you making good use of the time, the flight goes faster. I highly recommend the JamstikPlus.

Piko and I are on the same page on this one. I read every review and downloaded every app before I ordered it. Kudos to Zivix for a well designed and very well built product. It would be excellent to help someone learn open chords and some basic strumming. My hope was that it would be a fun interface for midi input and to practice while on a week plus cruise. I thought it would be something I could slip into a carry-on and board an airplane without drama. It certainly is small and robust enough for that. My other target use would be noodling around while watching television without disturbing my wife. However . . .I've played guitar off and on for over forty years. What I look for in an instrument is something that lets me do what I do without distraction. For someone working through simple chord changes and learning basic scales, this would be fun. If I'm fingerpicking some blues or running through some scales with the associated slides and hammer-ons, this just couldn't keep up. So I'm returning it. I'll deal with bringing my traveler guitar or a ukulele or will do without.I will also look forward to Zivix' next iteration of this concept. When it can let me play my way instead of its way, the device will be ready for me. I'm just not ready to re-adjust my playing technique to suit the instrument.I give this three stars because it is merely ok for me. For many other users it would be a 5+. The apps seem well designed and generating interesting sounds -- piano, sax, etc., is cool. This would have helped me immensely if I were just learning, but if I kept it I know it would not get used. My purchase was a triumph of hope over reality. If you're curious there are good deals to be had on returned Jamstik+ like this, with full warranties and support. In retrospect, I wish that's what I'd done, if only out of respect for Zivix.

Bought as a gift for my wife so she could practice anywhere without having to bring her actual guitar. She loves it and uses it all the time. Has helped significantly with her finger strength.

I gave this a shot but didn't really like it. It's a great concept but I found it difficult to switch from one cord to another while trying to strum the instrument. The software is good and I think someone could learn a lot from it but I would get more from a full size guitar with the same concept.

I liked it but it wasn't want I was looking for, it was alright but it was not for my use at this time, maybe some other time I may repurchase it again, I do not have an iPhone or iPad but that is not why I am sending it back, I am sending it back because I have no use for it at this time
