The WSM is a charcoal smoker. **Q: Do you remove the bowl all together?** A: Yes I have removed the bowl, but keep the bowl, incase you want to do a cook with water in it...but I have removed the bowl when I use the fire-dial **Q: Does this work with your rib hanger?** A: I don’t have a rib hanger but knowing this is sits pretty much on top of the bowl I would think so. Because the ribs don’t dangle in the bowl anyhow.
