First the negatives: The instructions are poor and full of mistakes, bad grammar, etc. The lock takes four AAA batteries, not AA. The manual does not explain that there is a magnetic cover over the keyhole for manual override, which can leave you a bit confused unless you bump it with something magnetic and pull it off.The positives: Despite the poor quality of the instructions, the lock was relatively easy to install. The illuminated keypad is a nice plus as it makes it easy to see if your outside lights are off. It works well. The keys for manual override are magnetic and pull the magnetic cover right off. However, the cover has not other attachment, so it could get lost if you don't immediately replace it. It is easy to reset to a new lock code by simply removing the inside cover (which also covers the battery compartment), pushing the reset button, and entering your new code.All in all, it is an adequate product. The plate for the actual latch mechanism in the door has square corners, so if you have a door with rounded corners on the plate (as I do) you may end up re-using your original latch.

What can I say, I just bought a new house in a dicey neighborhood, and a few times I kept forgetting to lock the door when I got home. This electric door lock has saved my butt! It has some features like adding and removing guest codes, lighted keypad, and low battery indicator. It does lock every time you close it, but this makes sure the door is constantly locked at all times. Plus how convenient is it to just text your friend or family a code instead of leaving a key hidden for someone else to find. The quality is 10/10, very nice finish and metal is very nice looking with a good weight to it. When I saw just how much foot traffic walks in front of my house I could not leave security to chance. This guarantees the door WILL be locked.UPDATE: Innards of the device have started to "STICK" and result in failed attempts to get in my house. Also the keypad buttons are completely worn after 6 months light use?!?!?! Can warranty please contact me or the seller?UPDATE: Warranty replaced the unit free of charge! FIVE STARS!

Installed this lock on the passage door to my detached garage. It looks a lot more substantial than the interior components indicate, but it is a definite step up from what it replaced. As mentioned in another review, the "manual" calls for AA batteries, but AAA are required. The longest part of the installation was going to get the correct batteries. I look forward to keyless entry to my garage. This means no more digging for keys with dirty hands! I hope it lasts. I'd really like this to be a long-term solution. The price was right, the prime delivery was zippy, and the lock looks good.

First one lasted 10 years so replaced with identical. After a few weeks new one has started goofing up by not turning the lock after the correct code has been entered. The old one intermittantly did this the last year of it's life until finally giving up all together. My fear is I won't get that much use out of the new one.

Looked around on the net for an electronic keyless door lock and this product fit the bill. Price was reasonable, even with the shipping cost. Installation was quick and easy, but initially, the electronic lock wouldn't work, no matter what I tried. The printed instructions was not useful. After searching the net for a solution, I found a posting that said to make sure your batteries were "good". I had installed new batteries that I had on hand, but when I replaced them with newly bought store batteries, the electronic lock worked! So, just make sure that your batteries are in top shape.

We bought three of these locks for our doors around our office about 8 months ago. They are not too hard to install, although we needed to chisel out the receiver in the door frame to make everything fit right. They are easy to program and overall seemed to be pretty good quality.The issue we are now having with two of our locks is that the inside door handle is breaking. I had to have a screwdriver and some intuition in order to get out of my office.After taking the handle apart, I found that the center shaft has rounded out where it connects to the inside handle, essentially, making the inside handle useless. I jerry-rigged a fix for now, but these need to be replaced.If you plan on using these in a commercial environment or if this would be your only way out of a room and it braking would cause you harm, don't buy this product.

I have purchased two of these so far and they have worked flawlessly. I installed them in about 5 minutes without instructions but although the instructions are light they are good enough to help you in a pinch. Please keep in mind I don't think these types of lock should be used in an area that needs high security.

Very nice looking, easy to install, works great. This is my second one purchased. Batteries lasts about 12-16 months.
