Leupold rangefinder
The first device I received was defective, but I ordered another one and it has performed the way I hoped it would. Very satisfied.

Oh, the bubbles…
I thought I was purchasing a NEW range finder not a used (defective) one. Pretty sure the white substance around the leupold badge is more than likely sun screen. After powering the device with the provided battery, I find bubbles and a choppy display. Programming the TGR club selector was easy and straight forward but the defective display was a total let down.

The Quality and Durability of Leupold Golf Rangerfinders Cannot be Trusted
Avoid buying Leupold golf rangefinders. I purchased a GX-4i2 and, like others, the red display numbers started to fade until it was unusable. Leupold customer service was nice enough to provide me with a complimentary replacement device, a GX-5i3, in July 2024, even though my original device was out of warranty but just 7 months later, the replacement rangefinder failed to read distances greater than 100 yards. Customer service this time said that this device was out of warranty so they offered a small discount on a new rangefinder. I told them I could not trust the quality of their rangefinders and would not buy again. I own a Bushnell Tour v5 Slope that has worked without any issue for 4 years.

Effective
This is a small very effective device. It’s really fast at picking up targets and extremely accurate.

Worked great, for a while
I've had 2 Leupold rangefinders fail on me just outside of their 2 year warranty period. My first was a GX5. It was pricey but worked great, and seemed much better quality than all my friends' bushnells so I was very happy with it.Around start of 3rd summer of use the red LED display started to fade, and was unusable by end of summer. Wasn't a battery issue.Returned to them for service. They wouldn't warranty but they offered small discount for replacement, so I went with the GX2 -- cheaper and has the black LCD, which I guessed I wouldn't have to worry about burning out. After about 2 seasons of use this unit started giving error readings, and this became more and more frequent to the point that it wasn't worth using. Cleaned sensors, changed batteries several times, no change. Returned for service but again nothing from Leupold except a small discount offered for replacement.Quality of Leupold seems high on first impression, but I just can't trust them to buy another so moving on to another brand.

Poor Customer Service & poor quality
Bought the top of the line unit, GX-4ii2 a few years ago for $500 and the display has now partially stopped working. Only about half of the digits now work. It took me 3 months and multiple attempts to get a RESPONSE, from customer service. Their answer was to buy a new one at a discounted rate.I'll buy a new one alright. From their competitor!

Not Worth the price
I just wanted to say that leupold golf rangefinders are not worth the price. I have an earlier model GX-4ii2. After a couple of years the LED lightings will die and you will have difficulty reading the numbers. I tried to send it back to Leupold and they will send it right back if your warranty is over. You would think that a rangefinder that costs nearly $500 would last more than a few years. I read another reviewer who had the same problem, so I think this is a common issue.
