Review: Works great with Spectrum - It was easy to set it up – just plug in the power and connect the coax- cable. I had wait for 2 -3 minutes for initialization to finish.. little longer than the old modem I had. I scanned the Q-code for MAC address but it didn’t match with the MAC address printed on the bottom of the modem housing! Joining the wireless network was easy. I decided to use the 2.4GHz (WIFI) network as my printer couldn’t recognize the 5G network. I then called up Spectrum and provided the MAC address (from the bottom of the modem housing) for activation (don’t use the AI agent. It is useless. Just press 0 and talk to a human tech support). The modem and my PC had to reset for few times to get working properly, but once it is working the speed is great and the signal level is good. I bought a refurbished unit but it looks like new. It was a good deal. Review: Great tech support, quality product. - Great way to save the lease fee Comcast wants to charge. Works great with XFinity Internet. Setup was a breeze. I did have an issue with my wi-fi printers dropping out. I would have to restart my desktop computer for them to connect again. I called Tech support, the gentleman was very knowledgeable and resolved the issue with a setting in the admin section. Printers have not dropped out since. ## Features - Approved for Cox, Spectrum and Xfinity internet along with other US cable internet providers. You have to rent their modem monthly to use the Gig 2X plan right now. They do not have a timeline yet, but I believe that the firmware update from Xfinity will be available VERY soon so that "MidSplit" works with their service. The Arris S33 modem IS compatible with MidSplit...Xfinity just needs to finish testing for third party modems and send a firmware update to existing customers so they can take advantage of the MidSplit feature and get 2GBPS internet without having to rent their shoddy equipment. **Q: What is the Warranty** A: ARRIS offers a 2 year limited warranty on new models, 1 year for refurbished products. **Q: was the Mac address release from previous device owner account? What happens if not?** A: It depends on the backend provisioning system of your internet service provider. Ideally, you should be able to use a used/refurb device provided the service provider's provisioning system automatically removes the previous owner's information from the device **Q: When does the certificate expire?** A: The DOCSIS certificate. It's rated as 3.1. Comcast is expiring the ones that are 3.0. So I think this one should be good until the next security upgrade in a few years. Hard to say for sure. My Zoom is 3.0 and it was made back in 2014. Only just now being "expired." ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great with Spectrum *by N***A on April 29, 2026* It was easy to set it up – just plug in the power and connect the coax- cable. Had two Comcast service visits and one phone tech support call regarding the Arris SBG8300-RB. I need the internet for work, and the unit required multiple resets, leaving me without an actual internet connection—a waste of my money and time. Ended up with a Comcast box provided by the Comcast Tech. So now have to package this piece of junk up and mail it back to the shipper. Learned my lesson with buying refurbished tech equipment. ## Frequently Bought Together - ARRIS (SBG8300-RB) - Cable Modem Router Combo - Fast DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit & AC2350 WiFi,Comcast Xfinity, Cox, Spectrum & More, 1 Gbps Max Internet Speeds, 4 OFDM Channels - Renewed - G-PLUG 10FT RG6 Coaxial Cable Connectors Set – High-Speed Internet, Broadband and Digital TV Aerial, Satellite Cable Extension – Weather-Sealed Double Rubber O-Ring and Compression Connectors White - Cat 8 Ethernet Cable, 1.5Ft 3Ft 6Ft 10Ft 15Ft 20Ft 30Ft 40Ft 50Ft 60Ft 100Ft Heavy Duty High Speed Internet Network Cable, Professional LAN Cable Shielded in Wall, Indoor&Outdoor --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/356827420-arris-sbg8300-rb-cable-modem-router-combo-fast-docsis-3](https://www.desertcart.be/products/356827420-arris-sbg8300-rb-cable-modem-router-combo-fast-docsis-3) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
