Don't risk your PC over a few bucks
Very poor quality, at least when I bought them. Very flimsy, and nearly destroyed my motherboard and an AMD Radeon HD 7970 gpu, and did burn out my second pci-e slot, making it unusable. Bought these a while ago, stored safely in the anti-static bags, but never used them until a couple weeks ago to add a couple cards for mining ethereum. Hooked up two cards everything was running smoothly except I kept getting crashes, random times, but always crashing on the same card. Diagnosed everything down to the riser cable, and upon close inspection with a spotlight and magnifier, noticed a tiny break in the ribbon cable near the solder joint on the motherboard side of the riser, which most likely was shorting out with fan vibrations when things heated up, and causing the crashes. Thought okay, one bad cheap riser cable, no harm no foul right? Yeah, I was in for a surprise. Inspected the other three cables (I bought five, but lost one somewhere), and lo and behold, another break in one of them. Without mishandling, without trying to bend the connection, two were already busted right out of the bag. Guess that's why I bought five cheap ones, huh? So I hook up the other two, and instead of a beep, I get ZAP, and the smell of electrical smoke. Hit the breaker on the surge protector immediately, but figured my motherboard was done. Unhooked all the cards but a monitor, pulled the riser, and two of the fingers on the motherboard side were melted through (will update with pics), along with the corresponding pins in my pci-e slot. Now I was sure the motherboard was done, my heart sank. But I'm persistent if nothing else, so I used my multi-meter's small probes to push apart the pins in the pci-e slot, and hit the breaker again. BEEP. I've never been so happy to hear that beep in my life. Windows came up, and I didn't just ruin my gaming pc with a shoddy riser. Shut down, put in the gpu previously attached to the riser, and it was fine, mining away right now at the same hashrate as before, now with no crashes, no random restarts, and new usb 3.0 risers on the way. I actually did get one riser that worked, and I actually still have it hashing now, but I was extremely apprehensive about it, even after I knew this one already worked, and will still be replacing it when the new ones arrive. So three of four were bad, one of those VERY bad, and one that works. 1/4. And since my pci-e slot is melted, I rounded down to 1/5 stars.TLDR; Riser shorted and melted my pci-e slot, MB still works, gpu still works, pci-e slot is unusable. Don't buy these. Don't risk your PC over a few dollar difference. Get a full sized molex usb 3.0 riser from here on amazon, not the floppy drive molex version, those seem to tend to melt from the reviews there. Not worth it.

works as advertised!
ran a 7790 off it (i wouldn't suggest it if gaming) so i could hook my unpowered GT430 to the 16x slot for Hybrid Physx in Win10 Insiders Preview.just be aware there's not enough clearance to attach your GPU below a miniITX/microATX board in a normal slot with this attached.

Works as described great for multiple gpu and efficient cooling set
great for multiple GPU and efficient cooling setups. The cable is flexible and long enough to extend you GPU out 24cm for me at least. Depends on which seller you bought it from. You will only need the powered riser cables if you have 3 or more GPU's installed.

One Star
Questionable craftsmanship. I had to fix mine to get it to work at all. Very delicately built.

Good, Cheap risers
These are the best cheap risers I've used. They are still the cheap, hot glued version but are done pretty well. Running 9 of them with no issue

It works.
It works, but very fragile and stiff. I had to cut away the zip tie to hook up the power. Also the power clip is not cut correctly. Really hard to insert the 4 pin.

Low quality but it does work. The PCI cable ...
Low quality but it does work. The PCI cable is needed for power and the 4 pin molex doesn't even have a ground. Be very very careful with it.
