This one says 3.2 and the other says 3.1 yet transfer speeds look the same** A: actually...there is a difference other than they changed the name. The 3.1 provides data transfer rates up to 5G/sec and 3.2 provides data transfer rates up to 10G/sec. At least, my brand-new one is giving me about 60MB/s write on either one of two ports that the laptop manual says support 5Gb/s (one USB-A, one a USB-C). Laptop is ASUS Zenbook 3, specifically model UX430UQ. And it's quite hot. Just got it this evening, so we shall see. But if I can't improve this performance, it's going back.
