Overall a good product but instructions are incorrect on suggested drill bit.
The product seems well made, it is made of thick extruded aluminum and simple enough to attach to boards that you supply. Only thing I would suggest is that Iron Forge correct the instruction sheet which suggests using a 5/8" drill bit. This is obviously a typo bad translation (the product is made in China) because you need to use a 5/16" drill bit!Haven't decided what length boards I will use. Iron Forge suggests measuring the height of your tailgate when down and multiplying by 4. I think it depends on what you plan to push up and down these ramps. For something big and heavy like a motorcycle or riding lawnmower this might make sense. I have a 4x4 Ford f150 that has not been raised so my tailgate is at 32"; that would mean I would need a 10' board! I plan to use these ramps for lighter things like a push lawnmower or hand truck so I will go with a 6-7' board. Also keep in mind the angle these plates are made at, where your plate sits on the tailgate might be angled if your board is too short.

Good quality & fine product
I purchased this product in order to build ramps for a new pickup. These ramp ends were perfect for the task and are of high quality. I chose to attach them centered on two 2x12 planks to achieve a wider ramp for use with 2-wheel dollies and an easier slope to climb to the pickup's bed. An 8' 2x4 was screwed vertically to the back of each plank to provide more rigidity and weight capacity. Works great. Recommended. P.S. Ignore the instructions' command to drill 5/8" holes in the plank. The hardware supplied requires a 3/8" hole.

Just what I needed!!
I needed ramps to get my golf cart in and out of my trailer. I could not afford those nice aluminum ramps that I was finding everywhere. Then I came across this ramp kit!! I went to the woodpile of scrap lumber that I keep but didn't quite have what I wanted so I bought a couple of 2x10's to use. Just had to drill 2 holes in the end of each board, insert and tighten up all the bolts and I had myself the perfect ramps for my cart!! I feel a lot safer using these rather than just the 2x6's that a friend used to load up the cart since they keep the boards still and won't go popping out of place!

Great Value, works as designed !
These ramp tips saved the day. They bolted onto the 2"x*'8 boards as designed and made a huge difference in how our moving project went. They are a great help whenever you need something loaded or unloaded from a pickup truck or trailer. I used tent stakes to hold the ramps in place at the bottom of the boards instead of the provided pins. Everything went smoothly, I'd recommend the ramp kit to anyone for a valuable and safe alternative to expensive loading ramps.

Good solid set at a good price
Good solid set at a good price. The only reason I dropped a star was because the directions call for a 5/8" bit. The size of the hole should be 3/8". At 5/8" you wouldn't be able to put the nut on the end. Fortunately I didn't follow the directions blindly.I used pressure treated pine, 2x8 boards. Worked great.

The instructions call for 5/8" holes. Don't do it! You need to drill 3/8" holes.
Two things you need to know before you drill the holes. One - the instructions call for 5/8" diameter holes. Don't do it! You need to drill 3/8" holes. Two - the bolts are too short but still can be used if you set them into the 2x8 by tapping the bolt heads with a hammer. The manufacturer should spend a little more to provide bolts that are a half inch longer and they should fix their instructions to specify 3/8" NOT 5/8" holes.

Worth every penny.
Just wanted to say this is one of those GREAT products you wish everything was . It only took 10 minutes to have my ramps ready for my truck. Very sturdy as they will support up to 700 pounds each. More than enough to handle just about anything. They are so good that I bore holes in the 2 by 8's so i could run a cable lock through them because I do not want my ramps stolen. Thanks Iron Forge Tools.

... includes all the hardware -- which makes it a great deal compared to those sold at hardware stores
This ramp kit is made of quality materials and includes all the hardware -- which makes it a great deal compared to those sold at hardware stores. The only caution I have is that the directions give the wrong size to predrill for the hardware. Luckily caught that right away.
